Aravinda is the undisputed best Sri Lankan batsmen. I never saw Sathasivam, as such, I cannot comment on him. Sangakkara, Mahela, Sanath, Tissera, Roy Dias, are all great players but, Aravinada was from a different league. His best years were spent in the wilderness due to the troubles in Sri Lanka .It was unfortunate for him and also for every cricket lover. Could I humbly request Ari to pass on his tricks to the future budding Sri Lankan cricketers. I am a surgeon and I always pass on my knowledge to the young surgeons. It gives us a great pleasure. Remember, "thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared". When I was a kid, I used to hate Aravinda coz he never used to get out. I really really really used to hate him. :) Huge respect to Aravinda. He truly THE best Srilankan Cricketer ever. I am sure Sanga and Mahela would also agree to this. If you look at Aravinda, he played Cricket like a true gentleman. Amazing talent, always down to earth - he was always no nonsense person. He was so sharp, had all shots in the book...... he carried the srilankan flag, when everyone used to laugh at them. He is one of the Nicest ever persons I have seen. What a great champion. Thanks for your time for the interview. You must take over Sri Lanka cricket and get involve all 1996 players to put SLC in the right track. You are right current players and administrators should make their mind set right. They have a mental issue - favouritism for clubs, player politics, govt politician interfere, player wives interfere, social media fights, player hunger for money and wealth build up, higher positions in admin, show-off on TV should stop immediately and play for the country like previous players. Sri Lanka make use of champion cricketers before that generation disappear. they are still fortunately active in this life but not in next few years time. Sir Aravinda, Please help Sri Lanka cricket together with 1996 champion bunch and greats like Roy Dias, Duleep, Sidath.

You listen,watch & read more about your country men all the time but i was lot different from my very young days... I used to drool over style of Arvindas hook & pull,Laras Jump cut & pull,Naser hussain cover drive,Kallis punch,Azaruddins magical flick and the list goes on and on and everyone bashed me for hating tendulkar... I have so many Aravinda memories but one innings that makes him outstanding in 1997 is how "he saved the test match in mohali with kumar dharmasena"...they played on and on on the final day... Sadly after Aravinda,Lara and Kallis have left the finesse,Style,Aura have dissapeared from cricket and smaller format t20 has killed the style game that i once drooled over...peace
