I am a button person as well. I lived with my grandmother untill I was 9 when she passed. The local tv station would have Bingo and you could play along. So each day at noon I would help get her large tin of buttons down and setup our cards, the buttons was used to mark our bingo cards. I don't remember if we ever won, it was our special time. So each time I get my button's out, I am reminded of my sweet granny

Hi Pam, You can also turn the buttons into flowers by stacking the buttons, largest on the bottom to smallest on the top. If you put them on taller wires, you can place them in old salt and pepper shakers to make a bouquet. Love them as dangles added to the spine jewelry, very aforable! Buttons are so wonderfully versatile. I have quite the collection stored in vintage glassware...gumball machine, butter churns, milk bottles. Love to pull them out for the grandkids to play with. Thank you for the new idea. Definitely will use this to add to my journals.

All the comments about button "collections" makes me wonder how people came by their "collections". I have a "collection" of 50 vintage sewing machines and most came with a bunch of buttons. All sorted by color (as if that matters lol) but never had a use for the shank ones. Now, I have ideas! Thanks!
