The Paper Outpost So creative ... A journey through things hand made from the heart . I appreciate what went into creating it : I draw flowers and birds and botanical , I love crocheting and I weave in cotton and hemp cords and work with vintage beads and dab into textile jewelry and I make greeting cards using oil pastels and fabric , lace , ribbons and buttons , dried flowers and vintage book pages . Flora and fauna has been my passion since childhood.

I just now saw your video, and it's so inviting, adventurous and amazing! It is full of so many techniques and fun things! I'd like to add though, your birds. When I first started watching your videos a few years ago I thought my smoke detector was going off. I'd turn off the sound to your video, and I wouldn't hear the sound. I'd turned the sound back on to your video and hear the noise again! I didn't know you had birds at that point, dah, and had to laugh when you mentioned them once and I was relieved I didn't need to replace any batteries in my smoke detectors! (p.s. I'm 5 feet tall with high ceilings, and it's a chore I dread!) Joyce

Hello! I stumbled across your video and though this looks cool, I'm curious as to the purpose. You mention journaling alot. Are you meant to write over top of the other words and images on the page? Also, is there a rhyme or reason to what things you put on them? The other junk journals that I have seen have been people using memories of their own lives. ie: a napkin from a resturant, brochures, pressed flowers. It's more of a personal experience and memory. This seems to me more of a random one. I would love to know your own thought/purpose for making it.

This is lovely but I would want one for real no made to look so for the look. I actually have one I made from my experiences as a midwife and my travels with that. So thank you for ideas but the best are made through time of real experiences a person has been. Still love your ideas and inspirational stuff, but yeah.....

New to your site: Viewed your process for making such a work of art in 3 previous videos, yet fail to see “meaning” in the content. Many references to photos/writings of strangers but nothing personal. Sincerely, will those who find this work when you are gone discover a scintilla of who you were? Maybe you’ve made other more revealing journals that I haven’t seen, will keep looking. Respectfully, M Dray

Inanimate objects are gender free ... unlike too, too many other things in life. I hate hearing women refer to craft supplies as “this guy.” I’m surprised to discover I feel the same way about assigning items a female gender. Mother Nature is different though. (My cat woke up and came into the room to find your birds ;o))
