Got a turbo outlet from do88 on the way for my n55 og m2 6mt. The car responds so well even on stock map to airflow mods. Now my entire parh bar exhaust is optimised, infinity design intake, mst v2 turbo inlet, do88 turbo outlet, d088 intercooler, forge charge pipe, milltek 300cel hjs sports cat. Airflow mods have improved power, response and noise, love it.

I recommend tired from achilles. I got achilles sport 2s for my build. They have AMAZING all season traction and even drift very well. I live in the midwest and they chug through snow, slide when i want, and will never slip when i do 0-60. Also they were 89 dollars a piece

Now that’s a price I like to see for tires. I’ll definitely check them out! I think I was looking at some Pirelli tires to try at about $140 per tire but based on that recommendation, I’m looking at those now!

🤔 I think the pipe upgrade isn’t significant when it comes to gains but the airflow like you said should be better. Maybe the pipe paired with a front mount or full-size intercooler you will then see some gain for sure. Then of course a tune to really squeeze out as much hp as you can 😬 reliably of course. And a big ups here for doing this and putting it out here. I really like that you are doing supporting mods for us normal folk who may not have the budget like other channels to do complete over hauls in a week. I’m excited to see what you have in store next for the GTI

For sure not huge gains but it definitely helped airflow. We got big things planned for this and every piece is key. But like you pointed out, we're on a budget here so it'll take some time but I am very glad it's still helping people and entertaining you all!

Aww man. I know that was a bummer, but you know a point of weakness so just make that correction and you will be impressed.

I already am researching tires. These still have a good amount of usable tread left so to save a bit of money and do some other mods, we won't be getting new tires until probably next year.

Should get at least a stage 1 tune for most mods for these cars to be more noticeable. Unless u are wondering about engine holdup or if the clutch will die can always option for a low tq option from apr. My stock clutch blew out after 6 months when I got my tune with a mk7 gti. Otherwise a turbo inlet pipe is a nice cheap mod that's pretty popular. Replaces the stock one with a cast aluminum unit. Gonna put mine on and the outlet pipe in a couple weeks. Easy little bolt ons for between $100-200 help. Help with turbo spool. Otherwise I'm still an advocate that cold air intakes, (just get a k and n airfilter) are a waste of money but the pipes beforehand are more with it. Good to keep the intake a closed system instead of just pulling in hot air from an open one. The closed intake for a mk7 are over $400 biggest waste of money.

Oh yes, a tune is in the works and definitely will make the best use of these mods! I really feel like I’m at a point where I won’t notice any more power with more mods until I tune. I am looking at APR for their new PEX system with air box and tubing, about $300 but has appropriate heat shielding. I would never buy an open faced one or just pod filter on a stick. Way too much heat soak. I’m not sure about the MK7 but the MK6 actually has an open flap right behind the grill on the intake that I really wanna get rid of with a new APR box.

@@TheParkingLotMechanic u should get the diesel geek short shifter, that's about $300. Makes the car shift like a bolt action rifle feels so good.

Got one on some mk7 forums for 180. Closed system, dry filter. That and the turbo inlet made a difference on stage 1 tune

big fan! I would not recommend suspension (coil-overs) right away if you want to daily the car or be comfortable lol (it can be done but....). if you get sway bars it'll help the car corner flatter without affecting the ride, probably a rear sway bar will be best because the car is fwd so it'll under-steer less. also easier on the ol' wallet. God bless

Thank you thank you! Much appreciate! And honestly, I may or may not have a rear sway bar in the cart right now 😁

More power doesnt always mean faster. The larger pipe means it takes more air to build up the same psi. It’ll make more power yes , but it’ll take longer. The same science applies to installing larger turbo. Smaller turbos spool up and create more psi faster, but larger turbos produce more psi at the top end. You’re getting more air flow in the GTI at the expense of the bottom end power band. A tune would help aid this more than anything.
@TheParkingLotMechanic3 жыл бұрын
Yes! That is all very true! I have definitely felt a small boost in top end but haven’t noticed much of a loss in low end power. I have actually mentioned the PSI thing a couple of times along with a tune being the most useful power upgrade with all this. If the parts all gained what they claim, we’d be at 230hp, but that’s not possible without a tune, and that is actually what we are currently working towards this winter!

Make sure you give it a cold air pipe from bottom of the grill or you get good noise but heat Soak
