*10:35* is probably my most favorite part in this whole game. The country tunes playing in the wreckage of the pick-up truck while everyone is fighting to the death. Mmmmh so cinematic. I love it.

This is very well done, to summarize the game so well in just under 20 minutes. That said, I think with full hindsight of playing the second game, the big thing missing is Ellie's survivor's guilt. So much of the game is about Ellie still trying to cope with that. Her full speech at the end of TLOU 1, listing the people that have died, needs to be in a recap to truly prepare someone for playing the next game. Again though, the video is very well done. Especially as you made this without knowing what the sequel would be like. I think the way I'm going to recap this for a friend is to show them your video up until Joel kills the doctor, and then just show them an unedited video of the rest of the end of the game.

Joel knew she was cure for humanity and ellie knew she was immune yet ellie had no intention of saving humanity because she was woke she prefered taco and has no intention of making babies. Its not the first game story with no heros but is first game that takes away all hope , The fact that the settlement didn't secure the mall as a living quarter priority is laughble , Not just by the amount of resource found in the mall but security of them in real life is extremly secure structure metal reinforced blinders covering every window , Just ask gang bangers that have tried driving cars through them , No zombie plant getting though them .

@@yashar_707 Yes, Joel lies to Ellie. This is made clear by the flashbacks that you see while he is telling her the story when she wakes up in the car. He says that the Fireflies have found many people who are immune to the fungus and that they have stopped looking for a cure. This is clearly not true as he had to forcefully extract Ellie from the operating room before the medical team could kill her to extract the cure from her. The fact that this is a lie is also underlined by the flashback involving Marlene: She tried to stop Joel in the parking lot when he was carrying Ellie to the car to get away with her. Joel had to shoot her to be able to leave with Ellie.

There’s a video of the head writer of the game describing how, in that last scene, Ellie is actually already aware that Joel is lying. She asks him why, not for verification that he is telling the truth but rather so that she can verify he is lying to her. His false promise to her finally allows Ellie to see him as a man who is broken inside, as oppose to an a stable father figure in her life. It’s like when you grow up and you hit a certain point in your life where you start to see your parents as people. Instead of these all knowing authoritative protective beings you begin to see and accept their flaws as you come to grips with your own adulthood. In this way Ellie grows up and moves on from simply being the “innocent child to be protected” in terms of her relationship to Joel.

If you’ve played the first one, this is a great refresher ahead of Part 2. If you have not yet - this is NO substitute for playing the game. Pick it up - it’s so worth it!!

I love the Witcher 3, but to me this will always be the best game of all time. It came out my sons freshmen year of College and he showed me it, and it's the only game on PS3 I played until his junior year. I replayed the campaign i'm guessing close to a thousand times (No exaggeration) and the multiplayer was buggy at first but ahead of it's time because their was no other multiplayer that was so intense and as rewarding. When I heard the announcement for part 2, I literally could feel my heart get warm. Not two hours after I saw the teaser trailer, I got a surprise call from my son and I instantly knew why he was calling. We must of talked for a couple hours just out of pure excitement and speculation on how Joel and Ellie's lives had ended up. Thank you, Naughty Dog for having an important part in me and my sons life, you guys are the best.

This is an awesome story. I was fortunate enough to watch my daughter play it. It was such a good bonding experience for us and it got me back into video games. Something I hadn't done for years. Fast forward 6 years and we're still gaming together and waiting for the sequel. No game will mean more to me than the last of us
