USA shot only 17 threes. Germany shot 45. Lucky for US, Germany had a bad shooting night. Ironically, the Coach (Kerr) known for space and pace is now bogged down in sluggish pace and sticky ball movement. I think the US might be upset by a hot shooting night by Canada, Germany, Serbia or even South Sudan.

They are exhibitions games and I don’t think they’re giving it 100% effort. When the USA starts losing, you can visibly see them pick up their game and play harder and actually play hard on defense. If they bring that intensity every game during the Olympics, there’s no reason why they won’t be dominant.

Ultimately the secret to winning basketball games is a subjugation of the ego to the greater goals of the team. It’s not about size and strength, it’s about timing and positioning. It’s not about how high you jump, it’s about where and when you jump. Talent means very little if there is no ego management, definition of roles, or chemistry.
