90 pity is much better. Previously, pity was 70 and 50/50, which you will lose every second time on average. Therefore 70+(70/2) = 105. The old pity is actually 105. Therefore, we can say this is an FTP buff.

OLD Pity System : - When summoning on the banner for the first time or every other reset, on your 70th pull there is a guarantee you get an S-Rank character but 50/50 chance that it is the featured rate-up character. If not, then the next 70 pulls you make you are now 100% guaranteed to get the featured rate-up S-Rank character. But if you got it before the 70th pull or in any pulls between 1-70, the guarantee of getting an S-Rank resets. So at most, it's 140 pulls to get at least 1 copy of the featured rate-up S-Rank character for a very bad RNG roll. but within that 140 summons, you might get lucky and get more than 1 copy to transcend it to SS or SSS. ****TLDR OLD Pity System : - Izanami banner, you got an S-Rank before 70 but it's not her, the pity counter resets. Next S-Rank you will get, it's 100% going to be Izanami whether it is before the 70th or on the 70th pull. But if you got her somewhere between the 1st and 70th pull, the pity counter resets again. NEW Pity System : - The pity was moved from 70th to 90th pull, but this time, it DOES NOT reset even if you get multiple S-Rank characters along the way that IS NOT the featured rate-up S-Rank character, so if that does happen, you get to get a 1 copy of the featured rate-up S-Rank character on the 90th pull along with any S-Rank characters pulled before that considering if RNG was good. BUT, if the featured rate-up S-Rank character was summoned BEFORE the 90th pull, it resets. ****TLDR OLD Pity System : - Izanami banner, you got an S-Rank before 90 but not her, pity counter does not reset. And you can still continue until the 90th pull and it will be a guarantee you'll get her. But if you got her somewhere between the 1st and 90th pull, the pity counter resets. Overall, the NEW Pity System will save you more summons than the OLD one OLD - 140 pulls for 1 guaranteed copy (assuming a bad RNG wherein you did not get the featured unit between 1-140 pulls and on the 50/50) NEW - 90 pulls for 1 guaranteed copy (assuming a bad RNG wherein you did not get the featured unit between 1-90 pulls) So on a very bad run, if you just want single copy of the featured character you'll need 90 instead of 140. So those 50 pulls you saved can be banked for the next banner and if you had the same bad RNG luck, then you'll only need to do 40 additional more to get to 90 again. What I'm saying is you'll save more than what you spend. Like you could instead try your luck on a functor and invest that 50 pulls you saved. This greatly benefits F2P players that don't spend any real money at all that just rely on events and daily/weekly rewards to farm for premium currency. But... since this is still on CN, we don't know if it will be the same for global, and since it's not translated, we're not sure if the new pity system will still adopt the 50/50 or it will ALWAYS be 100% on every pity mark on all banners moving forward.

@@alispeed5095 It doesn't cost as much for guarantee weapon as it does guarantee character and A ranks don't need their functors and most S ranks are very viable without them. For the most part functors are just comfort buying, but I think some provide enough value that they're worth 70 pulls anyways. The game is quite generous in many parts of the game and after coming from genshin as my first gacha, I have no problem with this tbh. Especially since they put more effort into functors and they stay there forever.

Not really, speaking from Genshin Impact experience. in that game, most of the time I rely on the 75 rolls soft pity for 5 star units. never going the complete 90 rolls unless your extremely unlucky. Even in pgr it is recommended to go to the 60 pity gacha over the 90 one. they just want you to spend more rolls for the characters you want

Dude, the 70 banner is still there. The difference between the 90 and 70 banner as I understand it is that 90 has 100% guaranteed for the on banner character if you hit 90. It resets only if you get the on banner 5 star character and doesn't if you hit a 5 star that isn't the on banner character in the 50/50 before 90. I don't know if the second 5 star you hit even if you lost 50/50 before is guaranteed the on banner character (unless you hit the 90 obviously. I'm also not sure if the 90 banner carries over like the 70 does. The 70 banner works as always. You have to choose which one you want to go with and they might only do the 90 banner alternative for 5 star characters that are newly released.

Regular and Limited banners have different pity counters. There should be no way to lose 50/50 4 times in a row though unless you mean you lost 50/50 and then got the on banner character and lost 50/50 again the next time. That can happen. Or are you talking about CN server? I don't play there myself, just repeated to op how the 90 pity thing looked like in the video and how it was explained.
