FUTURE NOSTALGIA MEDLEY - The Pennchants (opb. Dua Lipa)

'Future Nostalgia Medley' is The Pennchants' a cappella tribute to Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Dua Lipa's widely acclaimed 2020 album 'Future Nostalgia', featuring hit singles ('Don't Start Now', 'Break My Heart') and standout tracks ('Hallucinate'... and some bonus Future Nostalgia easter eggs!). Arranged by four of UPenn's most talented student musicians, recorded in 20 homes around the world, and entirely produced by members of The Pennchants, Future Nostalgia Medley is the seventh and final episode of Social Distance-SING, the group's groundbreaking 2020 online concert-series.
Following the success of 'Wham! Medley', Future Nostalgia Medley is the Chants' latest attempt to honor one of our favorite artists (new Dula Peep fans right here!) through our signature fresh, upbeat, and inventive a cappella sound (♬ we wanna change theee game ♬). We hope our fellow Dua Lipa fans -- both old and new -- will enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed making it.
What is Social Distance-SING?
🔹Entirely recorded, produced, and edited by members of The Pennchants, Social Distance-SING is a seven-episode online concert series that has raised more than $27,000 for people facing food insecurity through its campaign with Philabundance, the largest hunger-relief organization across Greater Philadelphia.

🔸A new way to deliver college a capella content to wider audiences, Social Distance-Sing earned recognition for its innovative format and its focus on social impact. ⁣⁣

🔹In addition, the series received praise from mainstream artists such as TV star & producer Becki Newton (who we got to work with!), and Grammy-award winning pop icon Barry Manilow.

🔸For the final installment of our series, we are working with the Village of Arts & Humanities, an arts organization based in North Philadelphia, to support the city’s Black working artists during the pandemic and while they wait for new gigs, events and other opportunities to share their amazing talents!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Hey, thanks! Gating is definitely a substantial part of the noise reduction process, as well as lots of excruciating editing work and clever EQing haha. iPhone mic audio is definitely really tough to work with! Glad you enjoyed the arrangement :)

this is good to listen to while waiting for the release of club future nostalgia. Bass a little lacking during recording, possibly because it's recorded at home. A bigger capsule mic should be used for lower end recordings.
