I thought I would share this story with you . My French speaking uncle was practicing English me and said I made my toilets. When he told me that , I laughed so hard because it did not make sense and it was comical at the same time. Then he told me yes I make my toilets which is je fais ma toilette. Could you believe that mistake or literal translation made me learn this expression Faire sa toilette.
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane3 жыл бұрын
That made me laugh for sure!! It's a bit of an old expression that I could see my parents say. Now we use this more for animals: le chat fait sa toilette To be honest, I am glad I didn't do that one 😹

Hello, Which is formal to speak (Faire + ...) or using the original verb e.g. Faire le natation or nager??
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylaneАй бұрын
if you speak about a sport, you will say "je fais de la natation" but you can also say "Je nage deux heures par jour" - it just depends on the sentence.

Hey Dylane. Really really enjoying the conjugation course. I have a question. Is there any difference between ‘faire les courses’ and ‘aller aux courses’ ?
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane3 жыл бұрын
No they have the same meaning. I think it depends more on the area, and probably the family as well. In mine we say Faire les course more than Aller :)
