One of my favorite vanilla majority non gourmand scents are - Imaginary Authors Memoirs of a Trespasser - Penhaligon Babylon - Ysl La Nuit de L'homme L'Intense - Parfum de Marly Herod Some might like D&G Devotion EDP. That's big on the vanilla. If you did want a gourmand vanilla try - Mancera Aoud Vanille ( smoky baked vanilla) - A Whiff of a Waffle Cone ( smells like a vanilla, caramel syrupy waffle. Very sweet) - Givenchy Pi ( vanilla apple pie)

My fragrance type has evolved so much in the last few years. I’ve always loved vanilla fragrances but I don’t reach for Addict and the like anymore. All I want anymore is Eau Duelle EDT or Gypsy Water. Hey, Chris! I love Ivory Route so much, but it's not really a vanilla to me. I just barely smell vanilla in the drydown, and the vanilla aspect is so faint on me I can't really call it a vanilla, though the perfume itself has great lasting power. I don't really have any "gateway" vanillas, but my latest vanilla acquisition is Electimus Vanilla Edesia. I love a lot of the ones you listed!

I might actually like a non foody vanilla more than a foody smelling vanilla…but the vanilla has to be prominent. I love the 2 Xerjoff that you mentioned. Back in the day VS Vanilla Lace was my signature scent. I cannot figure out why they discontinued it but there are many dupe oils and Body Fantasies a drugstore cheapie body spray domes super close.

My favourite non gourmand vanillas are Sublime Vanille (or Vanille Sublime) by Creed and Chloe - Atelier des Fleurs, Vanilla Planifolia . Both are very soft and feminine and I love them for the spring/summer. I also loved Contre Moi By Louis Vuitton but unfortunately I think has been discontinued.

This is my favourite scent profile. Would add those that You did not, like Loubirouge, Black Tie, Le Labo Vanille 44. Also - Pierre Guillaume Intime.Extime is quite good. I can not get my hands on Architects Club 🥹 Also Ivory Route really reminds me of Ani by Nishane, that vanilla is so similar. But I prefer Ivory Route - Ani seems a bit more masculine. Also Zara’s Vanilla Vibration is great not exacly duping anything but inbetween 3 of my favourites.
