Are you kidding??? Since 2020 (sky replacement) every major update is mind-blowing. Truth is truth. And if you donˋt use them I question your skills. Between 2012 (CS6) and 2020, Adobe were sleeping and their competitors could catch up. But AI made Photoshop a different program in recent years.

This needs an automated remove foreground obstruction option that recognizes a fence and other similar obstacles. I'm quite sure I've seen AI do this, even for video, already.
@ThePhlogPhotography Жыл бұрын
Would be a huge timesafer, but I'm 100% sure it wouldn't work perfectly and you would have to go over the image looking for small left overs
@rolithesecond Жыл бұрын
@The Padded Cell don't underestimate technology. Davinci resolve gives you pretty good depth maps from flat images now. It even lets you relight scenes now, taking into account scene geometry. AI can do this relatively easy.

Not in my experience; you can have both and select which one to run.
@PhilsPhotographyVids Жыл бұрын
Great video Christian. I find with the spot healing brush you get blurring of details sometimes on more tricky fixes and you have to be careful with repeating details. It would seem this new remove tool is a big improvement in that respect. Am I right in thinking that once you are happy with the results in the beta version and save the file. You can then open it in the existing version of Photoshop, layers intact?
@ThePhlogPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment! I totally agree with the spot healing brush, it loses details in important areas very often. With this one however, it seems muuuuuch better! I think opening the beta file in live photoshop should be possible with layers intact, but I did not try that myself

It did not work for me anywhere near as well as yours. Same image, not good results. Fence on the branch never went away no matter how many times I went over it!
@waltbarber3516 Жыл бұрын
Have any of you tried it, or just going by video? I have a studio mac MAX and it doesn't really work any better than SHB. I AM on the new remove tool but when I do exactly what he does the fence remains just dulled a bit. It sometimes takes it away but painting over repaints the fence. Doesn't seem to really work for me, very disappointed. Is there a trick I am missing?

Since LRC recently has received the spot healing brush, theres a chance this might be a thing for Lightroom aswell. Would be very cool, but could also be too "powerful" to includein Lightroom

I have a Macbook 2017 and it did not work like charm for me, it is a shame because it works when the image doesn't have a lot of details. I had an image with a model and hair, and near the hair, I got some weird colorful spots instead of the result I was getting where there were not a lot of details.
@ThePhlogPhotography Жыл бұрын
That is strange. Did you try brushing over those spots multiple times? I got better results after a few brush strokes if it wasnt working on the first try

AI is great and all. But, I hope that there are huge fines for anyone who enters photography contests and does not admit to using AI to "get the shot" When a real outdoor photographer goes out for days, weeks, at a time in undesirable conditions to get that 1 shot. I have respect for them. I understand not eveyone can do that. Getting your shot at the zoo and then applying AI for your own personal self is one thing. To apply it to a photo to compete with real outdoor photographers who got their shot after spending weeks waiting for it, is another.
@PinchOfLuck Жыл бұрын
Still waaaay too much work. As it is AI (supposedly) you should just tell it what you want. "Remove the fence from the picture.". It should AND WILL be simple like that.
