What a GREAT tutorial! I never thought of using the Curve with the Gradient mask for the custom vignetting . Until NOW! What a great idea! I also used the "Object" mask to highlight each of the "HOTEL" letters and matched the "Restaurant" sign. You rocked it on this one Christian! Thanks!

Good day, Christian I am an advanced amateur photographer from South Africa. Your KZbin tutorial videos are very good, and I benefit greatly from them. You have a unique style, and I really like it. Unfortunately, I am colorblind, and it's quite difficult for me to edit photos, but I see it as a challenge rather than an obstacle. I am very fond of wildlife and landscape photography, and these are my first choices, although I also do portraits. You mention on your KZbin channel that you are a landscape photographer, but it would be interesting to see a tutorial from you on outdoor portrait photography. Please do one for all of us outdoor portrait photographers. I believe you would be able to do a very good edit with your style. Thank you very much for your dedication and sharing your knowledge with others.

Thank you for the kind comment! Unfortunately I dont have any outdoor portrait shots (I also have no idea how to shoot them properly) but maybe I can get my hands on a raw file and then see what I can do! :-)

I love the varied techniques. Hoping to be more “fluent” with the Lightroom tool. Your videos help.

While I don't particularly like the look of the result, I like the way you demonstrate how you can achieve it.

Hi Christian, congratulations for your tutorials, which are changing the way I use lightroom. A question: how do you pull a gradient from the center of the image to the top? I didn't understand which command or key combination I have to use.....
@ThePhlogPhotography8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! you can start the gradient in the center (a regular mouse click) and drag it up. If you dont want the bottom half of the image selected, you can subtract a linear gradient from the previous one (I hope this makes sense) :-)

@@ThePhlogPhotography ....'' you can subtract a linear gradient from the previous one (I hope this makes sense) :-) ''.....Damn'...!! It was no complicated ... Many thanks, Christian....

a fantastic tutorial, many thanks! perhaps you know, i´m working with Adobe Bridge and Adobe Camera Raw (Latest Version), but i only have 2 color profiles to choose from, not as many as you do have in LRC? do you know why?
@ThePhlogPhotography8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I also have only 2 profiles available when trying to edit jpeg images, do you also only have 2 profiles when editing a raw file?
@ChrrZ8 күн бұрын
@@ThePhlogPhotography thank you for your reply, yes, only 2 profiles when edit the raw files, actually, there are 3 profiles now, one adobe color, adobe standard, and a new one called adobe adaptive. i might install Lightroom Classic just for the sake of it and see if i can manually copy the profiles into Bridge.

Hi Chris, just a question: did you use a tripod? Why 3200 ISO? How many stops between shots? Thank you so much ;-)
@ThePhlogPhotography8 күн бұрын
Hey, Yes, I did use a tripod here :-) I shot ISO 3200 so I can set the shutter speed faster (because of the people moving around to prevent any strange things happening) for the HDR I used 2 stops between the shots

@ThePhlogPhotography thank you Chris! In this moment you are my preferite teacher! 💪

We really need to change our terminology to avoid confusion between "traditional" HDR (merging exposures to allow more detail within an SDR container) and "modern" HDR (expanding the container allowing for true extended dynamic range). It's only going to get more and more confusing as modern HDR technology becomes more popular.
