Whenever I turn on your Channel, I look at my work from a different perspective in a different, better light. My pictures come to life at least in my eyes. You encourage creativity. Love this channel. Thanks.

Once again much food for thought . Recently I’ve been published for the first time in a book about Cornwall in the UK . The way I began to see photography has changed since I started watching your channel Alex and I’m sure all the things that I’ve learned certainly helped my process immensely . Can’t thank you enough . I believe it’s the must watch photography channel on KZbin . Please keep making these vids . Wishing you a wonderful weekend . Cheers Gary

I've been looking at Jay Maisel lately and I do believe I fall more in line with his take on photography. "Light, Gesture, Color" and "It's not about the F-stop", are great books of his. His main theme in his photography is, photograph what moves you. It does not matter about the rules, for if it moves you then it will most likely move others. Photograph the tiny, the large and everything in between.

If we're talking about art and not just commerce, the most important thing is missing here, and it is what is most difficult, most satisfying, and most valuable.

Great video. Contrary to current opinion, the essential skills to create great images are in your head and grow with experience and not with a new camera or lens. This is also called “craft” and applies to any creative endeavour.

Hi Alex, Another great video as always, great point when you said we have to be careful how we use colour. I neglect the colour Blue in my photography but now i will certainly include it, in combination with the bright colours. Loved the photo of the Mustang from Tyler Clemmensen, and i felt like eating an Orange after i saw that picture of the Orange. Some great advice there, thanks for this great video. 😃

Great video as usual approaching the heart and why of photography. It took me a little to realize so many of those images were yours. Some really excellent work. It occurred to me as I was writing this that perhaps there is something we should strive for that would lift our photography. Don't try to make photographs or pictures. Work instead to create images. Something visual that visually, even emotionally, lifts itself out of the frame and connects with the viewer on a more esoteric level.

I don't have to imagine Paris! Any modern city! Toronto is building skyscapers every fluffin block! Parks are shrinking. Soon like LA, wher it looks like a park.. But it's decor! Hoorible. Mies VanDer Roher has much to answer for.. Great video.

May I argue that, since postmodernism has shifted the ground under photography's feet, to think of composition is perhaps a thing that be I would grab with a pair of pliers.
