One of my favourite films, and one of the best scenes of that movie. DE was such an underrated actor. Roeg an underrated director. Perfection.

He was in a lot of good stuff, but if you think everything he was in was great you should check out the 1978 version of The Hound of the Baskervilles or Michael Winner's version of The Wicked Lady!

@@MrDravenLee Sweeney 2 is another less than great film I remember seeing him in, which was a spin-off from the Sweeney TV series but not as good. He was one of those actors who worked all the time and wasn't too picky about what he was in, providing it paid, so I'd say his filmography is quite a mixed bag. This film, Bad Timing, is quite an odd one which had a very mixed reception and was quite controversial, despite having some highly regarded people in it like Theresa Russell and Harvey Keitel.
@MrDravenLee18 күн бұрын
@MatthewMaloney-fj4zz I have seen bad timing. I agree. Donald Pleasance took on everything he was given too. Some films are awful and are only really remembered by certain performances.

What an actor Mr Denholm Elliott was. I saw A Murder of Quality, The Signalman and this particular scene and I became a fan. His expressions in this scene, Pachelbel's Canon in the background and of course Ms Teresa Russell's acting too make me revisit this scene again and again. This is a perfect scene in a movie in my view.

It's a nicely played scene, but I do think Denholm Elliott was totally miscast as an Eastern European in this film. He was the quintessential English upper-middle-class actor.
