Opening up in a honest and humble conversation, Cam Newton sits down with Fred, Ryan and Channing to discuss everything that has been going on from football, to his personal life to recent issues with some of the statements he has made.
A deep and impactful discussion between men on growth, learning from mistakes and how to keep moving forward when the cards are stacked against you. And Cam shared a powerful burst of what the fire he still has to play football every Sunday.
Allowing the vulnerability to come through, Cam opens up about some mistakes he made with relationships and owning up to the responsibilities his choices have caused and accepting the fall out and positives that have come with it.
Back to football- Cam challenges Channing on his statement of him not being one of the best 32 quarterbacks and asks him if the bottom of the pack is better than him. The two debate why he is or isn’t in that group and Channing says the league has deemed he is no longer going to be a starter a team.
Fred believes Cam still can land on a team this season before they go back to talking about his college days and time at Florida, asking if the off the field incident that Cam got into during his early college which led him to leaving for Auburn.
Ryan gets into Cam’s recent situation and the comments he made about women and he explains how they were taken out of context and how his remarks were intended. Understanding that his words will never be louder than the media’s, Cam shares his thoughts and the message behind his words.
Understanding the role of being a black man and leader for youth, Cam talks about how his impact in the NFL should have been greater than Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and the Peyton Manning’s of the world because of his influence on all communities and not just his play on the field.
The Pivot Podcast releases new episodes on KZbin and all audio platforms every Tuesday at Noon eastern with special drops on Fridays at 3pm Eastern. Find exclusive Pivot merchandise and stay connected with us at www.pivotpodca....

It was Awesome and as raw open and honest as Channing was with him honestly I appreciate it because that's exactly what those people are saying behind closed doors about him and I appreciate that he's here and getting it directly from the brothers and his community that's telling it directly to his face because what Channing said is nothing compared to what other people in positions of power are saying behind those close doors. I love Cam Newton for his open honesty and bravery but I think what Fred as well is Channing is trying to tell him is that his reputation is preceding him....

I attended cam Newton 7on7 2 years in a row 2013-2015 and that’s one experience I will never forget. He was the coolest most humble solid dude you will ever meet . It was basically like he was one of us and when you meet his dad and family you will understand why . Me and his little brother played on the same usa football team when we was in 10th grade . But cam literally made you bring the best out of you so organically he would put so much confidence in everybody at these camps just by his presence . He signed my cam1s and I still got them to this day and all the gear he signed and gave us , he was giving away free things and he hosted the whole event his self

@@jacbro33 Rodgers and Brady come from different communities and care little of the people that come from Cam's community. Therefore, no they can't go to that community and nor do they want to. However, when they go to their communities, they'll be propped up so high that they may even be able to obtain high political office for the purpose of protecting and legitimizing that community's interests (which generally does not concern the well-being of non-white people). Cam would never be able to ascend to high political office in dealing with his community...however, he can (especially where he is now) spark the mind and imagination of kids from there to discard dysfunctional narratives and build their people up. That is more valuable, legit and powerful.

Glad to hear him explain that his confidence clouded his judgment regarding that Patriot's, and Panthers' experience the second time around. As always, great show. Love me some Cam...and not even for football. I love me some Cam for the man he is...the father...the leader...and for the impact he has on the youth. To me, that's the most impactful. That and being his authentic self regardless to whom or what. I feel like he can be misunderstood and his words are often taken out of context. Especially the "women need to know when to be quiet" excerpt. As a woman myself, and one who watched AND listened to the entire interview, I fully understood what he was saying. And if you understood the dynamic of the household he was groomed in, and listened to the interviews he had with his father and mother understanding the era in which they came from and lived, one would know exactly what he was saying. Regardless if Cam plays again or not, he has definitely left a mark, will continue to a topic of conversation and will be a leader of many young men to come.

You have 'Shannon Sharp' and others from GA who did it right and did it well and have been themselves and moved on to commentary and doing their own thing. Cam, you have come against more because of your looks. Men test you based on that, challenge you more and literally try to tear you down, and deface you, based solely on looks alone. It is a Blessing but doesn't have to be a curse. Channing is loud and knows this, that's why he was grimy. I'm glad you should have that confidence in yourself, but you also were too observant of others which is why even on this show these brothers questioned what you were saying. Because Actions speak louder than words. Yall need to come away from that age thing. "Man you're 30 years old'" so what! Cam Newton was on a mission to commercial success. There were many football players who only played a few years and instead went on to other endeavors in entertainment, technology and entrepreneurship. It's that Competition that destroys the soul in the black community and especially among men. Agents, Models, Exec Producers Commercial Execs know that Cam would have been the ideal Star. He didn't have to be a great football player. He still could do what he's doing now for his family, the kids and the community. I hate to see young men like Cam have his career questioned and cut short trying to please people in his circle and community who put that doubt in their mind. Whether you have children or not, that shouldn't stop you from pursuing your goals. Taking care of your health is number one. You are something special. Your soul, size, and style prove that. Your Name IS 'Cam Newton' 6'2 200 lbs has something that other Athletes don't have and that's Commercial Appeal. Don't let anyone hamper the Best YOU that you can be. Stop smoking. Drinking, and Rebelling. Stop being like other men. Be YOU. That's what your real fans and followers want to see. Who are YOU? That's not a Black or White thing. Rise higher. It's a GOD thing. I am glad to know you have silently been working behind the scenes with a diverse number of people. Thanks for being Candid, confident, and headstrong and stay Humble. Be GA all Day, but not to a fault. Not at the detriment to your BEST self. Sometimes you got to leave the state and no, it Doesn't mean you're a sell-out. That's your home. Remember, even Shannon Sharp moved to LA to pursue a Career Move. Big Ups! and Level Up! Don't just 'Pivot' a Pivot is just a turn but on the same level. Great Show! Keep up the great commentary. Go for your Commercial Success and pursue that legacy. Make that 'Cam Newton' Movie. Start, Modeling, doing football commercials and if they don't hire you, then be a Producer making the Next Gen Commercial successes and yes, cut that hair, you have to be versatile you can always grow it back. I think about Kobe. I never wanted him to retire. Never retire. Always Play. You're too young to be 'Coach Cam' come on! You got work to do. If you have a son bring them with you, make him the water guy and keep him on the field to experience your life. That's the best that a father can do for his son and his daughter is to involve them IN his life, not the other way around. Your family should be supporting you in that Upward Move. Your light has to shine so you can give some light to others. Let's Go!!

Perception is projection of one’s own insecurities upon another to validate their mistreatment - both verbal and physical behaviors. Their problem-not yours, mine, or Cam’s. Proud to see him - unapologetic individual who understands what he represents/means to those who understand him. More importantly, those who don’t! Strong huMan!

One of my favorite episodes and first time commenting BUT what I really wanted hit on was Channing brought up Cam in New England. That was during the first "covid" season and right after Tom Brady decided to go to Tampa. That same year New England had majority of their team opt out of playing for the season due to Covid. People forget Tom's last season in NE he lost a game that would have sent them to the playoffs. But we expected Cam to take a team that was missing majority of their best players (mostly defensive players) due to opt outs, to the playoffs? Be real...and last season Carolina was trash even before Cam got there and Christian Mccaffrey has had injury after injury. I would of loved to see what Cam could have done since NE retooled and he had time to learn the offense with a full offseason. NE used him as a "bridge" QB and when they finally upgraded the skill positions pawned him off. Cam may not be came of 2015 but it ain't 32 QBs better than him right now and you lying if you saying he can't start in the right situation...

In my opinion they both were right. When it comes to on the field football ability, Cam is WAY better than 32 to 64, and better or equal to 20 to 31, period. However, where Channing is right with the NFL has said "no", it's the financial cost of 20 to 64. Cam more than likely isn't going to play for those types of contracts and doesn't have the upside (youth, closer to end of career) for the level of financial investment he'd be on a program.

This is really upfront talk and I admire Cam for going through it. The Pats' situation was an opportunity and he won over a lot of people here as well as BB himself. Surprised that the playbook got him, would have thought a vet quarterback would have adjusted faster. But he put in a decent, not great year. Physically, it is just a shame because this guy was an All-Star.
@samsneadd
@samsneadd 2 жыл бұрын
I thank the Pats for giving him an opportunity and I respect Cams side. But lets not BS ourselves either and ignore the obvious. Anyone during that time was set up to fail. He ws chasing Bradys shadow. Its like the love of your life leave you and you say all the right shit to save face u even get another one, maybe a bad one. BUT, she will never be that one. Once Tom left the bar was set soooooooooooooooooooooo high. Anyone wouod have been overly critiqued. Now that Brady has moved on and time has gone by the QB has a chancr to take the team and city as their own. But Back then every guy that suited up be it Mac or Cam was going to be judged on everything and ppl can front and say they was over Brady all they want that is BS and defensive talking, it hurt. It hurt fans the city and the organization and I am not Blaming Brady. It is just how it happened. But, Cam would have been better on a Jags or Miami wher the expectations then was not impossible to ever reach. I get they was one of the few that gave him a chance so he took it. But lets be real. How do I know???? Cause I see the Same BS with my friends and family with my stupid organization now that Russell left us and went to Denver. Everyone I know is realy trying to sell Locke. Like just stfu stop it lmaoooo it hurts bro.
