I'm Filipino and speak the Tagalog language she does during the rap portion...I can tell you honestly that she's pronouncing and enunciating those words so perfectly it's unreal. I can hear her and yet I almost can't keep up cause she's doing it so fast my brain can't keep up. But all at the same time it's spoken so clearly. Blows my mind

KZ's rendition of rolling in the deep in this instance is almost theatrical. Here's my take on her performance which I believe has several creative layers: interpretation of the story in the song, melodic changes, vocal style, and stage presence. I want to share what I feel about how KZ interpreted the story. The creative decision to start with an acoustic guitar and then the utilization of the auto tune is pure genius. The guitar implies romance that rolled into some sort of a bubble as soon as KZ begin singing with the auto tune. The transition is confusing- acoustic to auto tune - exactly what KZ wants to evoke (what happened after she gave her all in love?). The robotic sound effected by the auto tune is a reference for manipulation as KZ (who feels treated like a robot) sings "you played it... you played..." while standing still in that dark stage, her facial expression is sad and defeated. She wanted to break away from this unfortunate state.When KZ belts out a sustained note with the auto tune, that signals breaking away from the dark - she pushed it away (see her hand gesture before the sustained belt). The camera moved and rolled (underline rolled). The stage is now filled with streaks of light. She's free! She's no longer sad. But she's angry because something beautiful is all put to waste. It takes a technical vocal skill to utilize an auto tune in a live performance especially when KZ is clear what feeling she wants to communicate with her audience. KZ "owned" this song right in the very beginning. The rap is just a bonus. My two cents.

And yes I think she successfully fused multiple genres - funk, rock rap etc- and totally rearranged the melody and the beat. Plus she displayed total performance and drew out the crowd to chaos. For all I know, this is the episode she beat Jessie J. Yes, she taps in English too, also in this “Singer” competition in China, if i recalled it right - in her cover pf Royals where also mashed it with her own flavor and arrangement like something ethnic. Hello guys! KZ is probably the most talented, unique musical ARTIST in the Philippines. She does her own arrangements when she performs covers, thus making ALL of them her own. Throughout the whole competition ( Singer 2018 ) she did her thing. She also likes to insert RAP into most of them. She puts a lot of emotion in every performance. In her rendition of ROYALS by Lorde, she arranged the music to be a tribal Chinese beat, then she raps in English in the middle of the song. If you want a very delicate KZ, she does that too, with her rendition of SAY SOMETHING, it brought a lot in the audience in tears. Those are the 2 I suggest you check out guys. Oh, one last thing, KZ can do the trumpet with her lips. There is a LIVE performance of her doing it to the song ( They Long To Be ) Close To You by The Carpenters. She'll shock you for sure.
