She was just around 20yrs old at d time she joined the Tawag ng Tanghalan (TNT-where d TNT Boys got their name) singing competition & it was her 1st day as a contestant. TNT means call of the stage/competition. BTW, she is still the record holder (8weeks at least) as Champion before she opted not to defend her 9th week. More interesting fact is this-she was rejected at least 7x in auditions before she was allowed to join the daily contest level!!! Listen to her cover of Miley Cyrus’ When I Look at You (it’s definitely d best of all covers & better than the original). Nina (original song) has too many head voices, that's out of the basic chest voice song It's like a way to cover up poor chest voices. Elaine duran has a better chest voice than Nina, but the purpose of the song is technique (head voice). The chest voice point is high. That way, the strong sound doesn't come out and it's difficult to sustain the sound. The reason for doing that is the technique (head voice switching). If Whitney Houston sang, I wonder if it would be a great song.
