The goal is to make the audience laugh so timing & proper amount of elements is important. I’ve seen a lot of performances of the Mistake Waltz and they’re a miss. Some exaggerate the facial expressions and some just couldn’t do the comedy right.

Not a dancer of any kind, so I might be giving a far-away shot, but to me seems a lot harder to make a "mistake on purpose" them knowing a choreography by heart and making one or two little mistakes on stage... I know it happens "spontaneously" in classes, but it's two things you have to learn here, the actual steps and the missteps... Kudos to this ballerinas, they are amazing!

There was a very popular gymnast coach that taught girls in the 80's. So during intermissions during competitions, he would perform skits for the audience. Of course, he was a male doing women's gymnastics on the uneven bars or the beam or even a floor routine. His name is Paul Hunt. It's so great listening to the commentary as he performs.

@@SandrA-hr5zk, I love Paul Hunt! His routines as Eastern European gymnasts are hilarious, especially when he’d put his hair on Olga Korbut-esque pigtails. You have to an incredibly good gymnast (national level, in his case) to pull off such ridiculous routines.

It must be so hard doing that. I must admit it's nice seeing ballet now appealing to a new audience. My daughter when she turned 11 we went to the cinema to watch the recording live of Alice in wonderland. We then this year did the same and watch Swan Lake. My daughter doesn't do ballet, she is training to be in theatre either acting or musical theatre. The school she goes to once a year does a week long at a local theatre, its an audition to be in it piece. They did singing in the rain last year so she is now starting tap in September . (The school was established in 1904 to be a school for the arts and it has its own theatre and they do shows each year with their class. She did summer school and in a week they did Peter pan and had around 100 pupils on the stage from 3 to 23 in age)
