I'm a hobby aerialist and the scariest part of this was definitely the whole "just rig from a bridge real quick" bit. Yikes! I really hope a lot of careful rigging happened behind the scenes and it just looked casual and quick due to editing.

As a dance photographer, of course I love Jordan's work but I feel like he's not thinking about the efforts and risks dancers are taking. There is a ton of scaffolding in NYC and it stays up for YEARS AND YEARS at a time. It's a thing. Not a fun thing, but a thing. Only saving grace is when it rains, if you know your area's scaffold-stats, you can plan your path so you get minimal drippage under maximum scaffoldage. One other thing about NYC (and yes, most of us are nice, if you ask us politely), is how people are just walking by while all this is going on. It's a NY thing. ;)

He's talented, I admit. However I think he only cares about that 'perfect' shot and not the dangers the dancers are taking. There's a lot of dangerous poses that they have to do and if they were to fall it might cut their promising careers short. Though I hope that I don't have to be so worried because I'm sure the dancers know what they are doing.

Your theory about a photographer needing to be fun and likeable and charismatic (@8:09) are 100% true. I'm a big hairy programmer tech guy, and I worked with a very pretty lady artist many years ago, and at a company holiday party, I went around taking group photos at all the tables (Cheesecake Factory), and so did she, and our photos were night and day different. In hers, everyone has a big smile, thumbs up, laughing, waving... In mine, everyone's either emotionless, or has a "whaaat?" face like I woke them up for the photo. It was crazy going through photo after photo from each of us, and all of hers look like the party of the year, and all of mine look like a funeral, or a drug bust. Who the photographer is matters a *lot*.
