This palette is really nice color story wise, but I feel like it's the UD Naked Honey palette with less yellow and more brown. Between the two, I'd stick with UD. That being said, I'm so excited to use my Four Twenty Palette (which came in the other day)

I own Rust and Gemini and I love them, they're so pretty! Rust is different in terms of formula, same with anything post-Millenial Pinx. Melt had a sale recently where their palettes were $30 or $45 (depending on size) so that's a good time to purchase. I bought Smoke Sessions finally because of it.

I didn't realize how many browns were in the palette til you did your swatches (thank you!). I did pick up the Burnish gel liner from this release and it's fabulous; I waited and went for the 420 palette + the 2 gel liners (Spliff and Willow) and... now I need an occasion to try them out, lol. Autumn 🍂 leaves 🍁 were always gorgeous to me. I have a blanket that has been around since the 80’s that my late grandmother sewed together. It has trees and the 🍁 are yellow brown and orange. I just can’t get rid of it. It’s seen better days. I plan on taking a corner to save. I can’t help it.

Ok so I've used this palette a few times now, and imo the darkest brown is verrrry cool toned, and kinda throws off the warmth of the rest of the palette and muddies it all up a bit, which I think you experienced here too. Haven't tried the shimmers in this one yet though, as I don't love or buy melt for their shimmers. It IS a beautiful palette, but can't see myself loving it as much as I love the twenty seven which is one of top faves and most used.

You just need to be sure you get their quality formula. I bought two palettes I had to return. The clerk said they changed the formula, but they must have changed back because the new palettes work well. I think they tried a formula that could be packed tightly, but then I found I couldn't do anything when it was on my eyelid. I do the same thing with my fallout as you do. I rather a shadow is lightly packed than on that is tight. I have a light hand so it works for me.

I signed the petition. It's happening on Facebook too. People are getting unfriended automatically. I fully believe it's the new algorithm crap. As far as the palette, I think Melt Cosmetics has beautiful palettes but they are expensive as heck. I can't be paying $60 for such an Urban Decay size palette when I can get a Jeffree Star or ABH size for the same price. There's too many browns that all look way too similar. It's definitely a pass for me. Loved your review as always though! ❤

If you sign up for their newsletter, or follow their Instagram, they're often announcing sales. The sales typically happen around all major Holidays, and when they launch a new product/collection. Obviously, the "new" launch isn't going to be discounted, but all the older products/shades are, and a palette is typically $35 USD, and the "stacks" are $30-40 USD (fewer shades, but huge pans!); the singles are dropped down to $10 USD.

It amazes me how u didn’t like this palette, but most beauty gurus I watch & in real life call this a staple in their collection. I have all their palettes & stacks, and I absolutely love them all! That said, the formula is very polarizing, and I don't believe it has anything to do with "quality control", but with actual preferences. I've also never had any issues with the shimmers "puffing up", but from what I've seen from those who have, it could be because I never use a wet/damp brush...

If you want that mustard yellow color without the price tag then the profusion cosmetics mattes palette has a very similar color for a fraction of the price, and also has more colors in it than this palette does.

This color story isn't for me since I'm not into brown eyeshadow, but I want to try the Melt palettes so bad. However, the ones I've liked (Gemini, Smoke Sessions, and the new 420), I only ever like half the palette colors so I'm not about to spend $60+ after taxes for half of a palette. I'd say I wish they sold singles, but it would probably end up being triple the price making your own palette out of singles... Unless they ever make a full green or purple/plum palette without half of it being brown, I'll probably never end up buying one, unfortunately. =(
