You are confusing a gentleman's club with and ordinary club. Here in the UK for the majority of people a club refers to a friendly drinking spot where you generally have to be a member; or a sporting or leisure club (hobbies etc). The landed gentry sort of club to which you were referring is a far off world to most of us peasants.
@antimattercarp27205 жыл бұрын
Of course in the US gentleman's club means almost exclusively strip clubs and generally has been replaced by dining club and country club.

Few points: Check up on your local laws. Here if an item is abandoned your only duty is to keep it under lock n key for 60 days (in case the other returns and wants it back) and beyond that it is yours. You should even be able to license it. Clubhouses aren't always high dollar. When in elementary school an acquaintance of mine made a cloubhouse in the rafter of his dad's garage. You had to lean sideways like some scene out of the diary of anne frank. It had a dangerous 120vac exposed knife switch and some discarded xmas lights for ambience and a boombox playing queen and the 70s hits of the day. It wasn't much at all. Not even a chair. But it was ours.

I have always been intrigued by the concept of a clubhouse, it sounds like a wonderful idea, getting together with all your friends, doing things you like in common, the laughter, the fun, the companionship, helping them when they need help, being taken advantage of by them, kicking in more than my fair share, lending tools they never return, receiving items back from being lent that are mysteriously broken, always by myself when it comes time for me to need help, so then it occurs to me that my friends are all fakes, and in fact I do not really like people, and I realize am fine without a clubhouse. I have always been intrigued with the concept.

I think the new generation is the first in history where the parents were better off than their children. It's sad, and I fear that it will only get worse. Having so much wealth in the hands of so few, will blow up one day, and I fear the wealthy will not escape the clutches of revenge. The world runs on 3R's; -Resentment -Resistance -Revenge Once resentment starts, it always takes it's course until revenge is achieved. Only love and forgiveness can stop the process. Which is also in short supply these days.
@robroberts14735 жыл бұрын
Revenge for what being wealthy? The wealthy have to watch their backs why? Because the overwhelming majority of them got off their asses and went out and got their piece of the pie and other pieces because people like you and I couldn't be bothered to do it as well? It's hard enough getting themselves and their family to that point, now their suppose to load your sorry ass on their back and provide for you as well? Shut the fuck up!

In my younger days, a clubhouse could be as simple as a sheet draped over something, sort of like a camp. As i grew older it may have been an old building (hut) where we would meet. So really they could be from very low budget through all the stages to a place for the rich.

For me, an American, a clubhouse is something that children build in trees, or pillow forts. Where all the kids in the neighborhood come and hang out. So I think calling it a clubhouse is perfect. Also what you are doing with that is such an awesome idea, I would love to get involved in one of those.

Lvl 3 (includes previous) The Modern day Nikola Tesla waiting for fun games to begin after the post apocalyptic new common era. Something like that. IE a video series with links to tools to buy, books to buy, and some creative outlets -- How to paint an end goal picture to strive for.

We always had social clubs in the residential neighborhoods of New York City. Some date back to the days of prohibition in the 1920's. They're cheaper than bars or pubs. Some of them were meeting places for shady characters, but mostly they're just a space for locals who want some elbow room..
@reggiep755 жыл бұрын
I think the definition of 'clubhouse' used to refer to this project is perfectly okay as it's largely defined by how the space is to be used, who uses the space and less so on the historical use or attachments on the word/phrase. The endless nuances and anomalies of the English language aren't helpful at all tho even tho it it part of the Germanic language tree encompassing other traits of many other European languages. Numerous words in English can be all encompassing in an attempt to simplify, except it doesn't haha. As for the project itself, it is a great thing to do and encourages community in a time when people are drawing back and in extreme cases hiding away from society to avoid risks or just plain human contact and I often feel like that myself but I can rationalise and balance my life better than most. I know nothing of German road law but in the UK, unlicensed and uninsured vehicles can be rode on private property with little issue other than your personal safety. If the laws were similar the scooters could be fixed up and used on private property.

You should contact your local building/construction supplier as they often throw away sheets of osb board and other good stuff if it is damaged. Sometimes they just have one damaged edge, my dad gets all his fire wood from our local building supplier and recently he also got some huge (and very heavy) steel racking which had been bent by a forklift hitting it, but was very useful in his small workshop. Btw Great video as always 👍🏼

I love the sound of the different drive speeds on the robot. I love that electronic sound, is it made by the mosfets? I remember the old Tatra trams in Berlin had a similar sound, both when accelerating and when breaking. And now, some of the new one-compartment subway trains also have that sound when accelerating or breaking...it sounds like there's a huge conversion of power going on somewhere, so to me, it is the sound of might!
