I have been telling people about this for over 20 years! I am in red t-shirt to right of dj Jonas 7:03 danced for over 2 hours with his 12 year old sister, saw her face here and 24 years later was as clear as if she was right next to me now. More recently I get sometimes funny looks as she was so young , now I can show this vid, more innocent times for sure. Wow, best night of my life and believe you me loads to choose from! love and peace brothers and sisters...

Exactly - and it's NOT "just the illusion of us older ones" or a romantization ... it really WAS more intense. I haven't even been to Goa, but I can feel it. And this is exactly the reason why I have begun to collect these old goa vids...

Amazing video!! Is the kid playing at 6:12-7:06 dj Goa Jonas?? I think I saw this guy playing at my first party in Anjuna beach in 2004 and he was still back then pretty young. He was amazing! He played all night non-stop some serious, pure psychedelic trance. This is what happens if your kid grows up at the right place (Goa) at the right time!! Nowadays, children -at least in the 'west'- grow up holding a smart phone which is another way to say that we are raising zombies, slaves with mobile phones, instead of free individuals.

@@YogaToSamadhi No, it's nothing like it used to be. Same with Koh Phangan. The 80's til the mid 90's were the best, and was still good in the late 90's but you could see it was evolving - and the music became straight psytrance, whereas the early days were acid house/techno, italo, new beat, ebm/industrial etc. Those were the days I'm most fond of. The bohemian culture was at its best before the 21st century. Goa changed a lot, and wherever there's money to be made, problems usually follow. Russian gangsters, corruption, massive popularity with cocaine and other shitty variations of synthetic drugs. It's been developed significantly, and the old charm has been gone for 15 years or more. No more purely natural parties on the beach, jungle, or valley....it's more like festival culture now. These are all paid entry parties now, fenced in or barricaded. The old locations don't have parties anymore as far I know.....nor are they free like they always were. The goal was always to contribute in a meaningful way and joining a community to participate in something raw and beautiful (especially if you were there for an extended period of time). It's straight tourism now, and motivated by money, government regulations, & tons of bullshit. It's sad, but once the internet took hold in a mainstream way with KZbin and social media.... it spiraled into a nightmare rather quickly. I can't advocate anyone go to Goa for the experience with music and parties. That shit is long gone. That said, the landscape is still amazing, as are the beaches and many of the old school local restaurants etc. You have to get off the beaten path though. Until people start throwing parties for free - with the support of the locals and a strong resistance to the Russian gangster shit, and paid corrupt law enforcement, and setup their own pipeline for quality psychedelics to be part of the scene again exclusively......it's not worth bothering pursuing IMO. Goa was special because of its roots, and why it was appealing in the first place. With those things gone, I struggle to find a single reason to participate in something that already exists everywhere else. Maybe it'll evolve again one day, but it's gonna be awhile. Hope I didn't crush your hopes, but it's important to know the truth. See it for yourself, you'll either get it or you won't.....but you'd probably need to stay for awhile to catch a small glimpse of what it once was.

I know, what he meant, many Indians from other states, especially from Maharashtra, were really a drag back then. They hassled female travellers and had no respect for the locals. Up until about 1994 Goa was very special and so were the parties. Then, more and more business-oriented Indians and also foreigners took over. Sex crimes happened often and garbage was left by people, who came to Goa only to party, and/or wanted to make business. I stayed in Arambol from 1992 to 2001 non-stop, even during the monsoons and I saw the change of quality in the visitors. Very sad. @@surajramesh2534
