For editing dance to a beat or transferring one actor's dance to another piece of music, it helps to locate cyclical moves like foot taps and hip shakes, count them out in a given clip, trimming the ends of the clip to complete, say, two beat-cycles, then use time stretch to move that over the beats in the music, whatever number of them you counted out in your clip. If you make the clip endpoints the apex of your given dance move, it's easy to center all those moves over the beats using time stretch. You can do it in multiples of 2 and 4 for most dance music.

very helpful i noticed that a few of my clips were off by just a few frames
@ThePremierePro3 жыл бұрын
This happens because music is measured in beats per minutes (bpm) and video is measured in frames per second (fps). It's like trying to count to 21 in blocks of 5 - you'll never get there precisely. I recommend jumping forward 30 seconds, selecting all the clips after the playhead and dragging them back into sync by a few frames.

Hi , THANKS Awesome tutorial I have a question i have a music audio track 126 bpm and a clip with dancing people and they dance to the music (in the clip) at 120 bpm, can you make these people dance to the audio track 126 bpm so that they dance faster Best Regards Ron
@ThePremierePro Жыл бұрын
You're welcome! To calculate the speed of your clip, just divide the music's bpm (126) by the video's bpm (120) and multiply by 100 to make it a percentage. 126 / 120 * 100 = 105. If you set your clip's speed to 105%, it should now sync with your audio track.

anyone got suggestion on how to do this with nested clips?
@ThePremierePro Жыл бұрын
Can you describe what you need done in more detail? I should be able to suggest something.
@guyver1215 Жыл бұрын
@The Premiere Pro thanks for reply, yeah I got a ton of clips from a single piece of vid that I've nested. But I can't automate to sequence any of the nested clips as they're seen as timelines. This is I know a little opposite yo your vid as your not talking about using markers. This method of yours works great even with nested seq but it doesn't offer any change in rhythm though unlike using markers as I can place them with the rhythm not just the beat if you get my meaning. Tia
@ThePremierePro Жыл бұрын
@@guyver1215 With nested sequences, you can either drag all the clips from the nested sequence to the Project panel if you want to use Automate To Sequence, or you can use Scene Edit Detection in the timeline to break up the nested sequence into clips and than apply Speed/Duration to all clips.

Why would you say this is better or faster than markers? To me, it seems like its a workaround with lower quality results
@ThePremierePro Жыл бұрын
Markers requires you to manually add a marker at every beat in real-time and then adjust the duration of each individual clip. With this method, all you need to do is measure the duration of one beat and apply it to all clips.
@s.t.-growwithus93913 жыл бұрын
Not the fastest way . Could have used markers for the beats
