I'm a 55 year old British Airborne Vet, like you carrying loads doesn't get any easier so I say this with respect, get a bigger Ruck mate. Hanging everything on the outside changes your centre of gravity and creates movement in your kit that adds to fatigue. You'll be more comfortable, snag less moving through woods and be less tired meaning you'll be less prone to minor injury such as twisted ankles, etc. I see lots of videos saying they only need a 30l pack then hang 15l of gear on the outside. For me the Fjallraven Singi 48 and Tasmanian Tiger MK2 Field Pack with it's excellent V2 harness system were game changers for carrying loads in rough terrain. I live in the Outer Hebrides and spend lots of my time on the hills and round the coastline. Keep producing your content friend, good stuff. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙

I agree fully, i find it much more comfortable to have everything as far as possible inside a pack. Less balance issues, less noise . Things u use often in chest rig, and on belt. That way if u drop the pack you still have the essentials.

I'm a 56 year old U.S ARMY veteran paratrooper and agree 100%. You don't need to pack so much gear. The more you know the less you pack.You have to know how to use what's naturally around you because equipement breaks down especially if its a POS made in China.

Man a continuous ridge line would be a game changer for your tarp. Ya know military gear is good in its own regards but its way too heavy & bulky In my opinion. I'll stick to my UL hiking gear ⚙

Great video, I have a BPS (also from Ukraine) and it's an awesome knife, but they will rust under the handle scales if not taken care of. Just something to think about when oiling it.

In regards to visibility, people often don't take into consideration what other people will be with you (your squad/team or family). That needs to be considered, especially when every "bugout" video comes from the perspective of being solo.

Love a tarp and hammock, not all closed up like in a tent, you can sit under it and still cook or whatever. My Army days were decades ago, I start seeing KZbin videos with military-issued bungee cords. Wtf? 😂. But I acquired a 300 foot roll of bungee cord, super cheap, made some, have used them several times now and I’m totally sold on it. Constant tension for the tarp but also some give if the weather gets rough, less chance of pulling anything out or tearing it. Aquaquest tarps are amazing, and now I’m hearing they make a bivy?? Well, off to Amazon, thanks!

Yup, i bought a military bivi bag. I Do the same thing. I found the bag at a local shop. I don't think they knew what it was. It was laying on the floor. I picked it up and looked at it, and it was perfect. It was only 50 bucks i couldn't pass that up. Good video

Over 50% of the populace lives in the suburbs. There are no woods or forests behind the house or at the end of the street. This bugging out crap is just a wet dream.

A 9' x 9' tarp is a good size for one person. The more tie outs it has the better. Consider the next time you go to the woods, carrying a light weight hammock with your load out. It gets you off the ground when everthing's wet and you can still use your light, breathable bivy sack (along with other insulation) to keep yourself warm and dry. You can use that 9' x 9' tarp over and tight into the hammock to protect yourself from weather. You can use #36 bankline for the hammock's ridgeline (to hang things from) and for the tarp's ridgeline and any tie outs. If you would rather sleep on the wet ground (lots of creepie crawlies on the ground) then take that tarp and pitch it into an Adirondak Wind Shelter pitch. Why? The shelter's 'wings' can either be pitched opened up for maximum ventilation or brought in tight for protection against wind and rain (or snow). The front overhang portion of the tarp coming over the ridgeline can be pitched with one cord running through in a 'V' pattern which allows you to bring a fire in close and not burn the cordage. I would think bugging in would be more practical, why would you want to leave all your resources.. personally, the only reason I would bug out would be for like a natural disaster, where I had no choice but to leave my house. In the case of civil unrest, we have a group of us who will come together for protection.. good video though.
