"Za-pas" and "Zapas". It's a play on words. "Zapas". A reserve, i.e. anything saved for worse times or conditions. It could be food or a second sweater. "Na pasie" (on the belt), that is hanging on the belt. A knife hanging on a belt. "Za pasem" (behind the belt). In the past, in Poland, a very wide cloth (like a long and wide scarf), folded in half (lengthwise), was worn around the belly. This created a space (pocket) surrounding the entire pavilion, which could be filled with necessary things. Hence the saying "to have something under your belt". Nobility belts are also a separate chapter of Polish tradition and culture. "Pas Szlachecki" or "Pas Kontuszowy" (Kontusz) You may also have a surprise under your belt, i.e. sweets, a knife, or an argument in a discussion, or a trick. It depends on the context and the tendency to play with concepts. Very good knives are performed by Grzegorz Prządka, survival instructor in the Foreign Legion. LKW by "Wołodia", Tomasz Kołodziej.... and many others.

Rock and roll!!! I'm hoping to wrap this review up this fall! Although mine has a sheath that isn't exactly where I would like it to be I have friends who got them and their sheaths were dialed- so I think it's a GREAT value! I'll break it I think and we will see what kind of abuse it can take.

I was thinking about Spartan blades Hersey tt fixed blade design, anything exactly like that but more budget friendly, there's another one which is made by Miller brothers M15 again astronomical price. I'm trying so hard to find anything in that shape but reasonable price if you can suggest. Thanks
