And Dwight yoakam and Rhett akins Paul over street, and Dan seals are a few more talented guitar players I think alot of, and I really like guitars, Cadillacs, hillbilly music by Dwight yoakam and alot of songs by Keith Whitley and Hank Williams Jr.,, and I really like the song here in the reel world by Alan Jackson, again they remind me of the older country music and ballads songs like Pancho and Lefty by Willie Nelson and Merle haggard and guitar town by Steve Earle .. and I also hated math in school for two reasons took me forever to get it down and understand how it works that way,by then I usually had a strong headache and yep I don't take orders so I was usually determined to find another way to come up with the same answer and tell the teacher they were wrong lol

Thirty seven years ago, my brother and I put on a Judds concert for our mom and grandma and baby sister one weekend afternoon at home. I was seven and chose Rockin’ To The Rhythm, and my brother was nine and chose Grandpa. At the time, I found his song choice weird. Why not an upbeat, fast song from the album. My brother by nature is quiet and thoughtful, so for him was a perfect choice, and he just loved that song. My stage was the front porch swing, and for my brother’s set, he chose to sit in a chair with my grandma Gigi’s shawl around his head lol. What a fond, funny memory I cherish. My brother died tragically and unexpectedly three weeks ago. We are crushed, but God keeps sending us little signs to let us know Jesus has my brother wrapped in his arms. Thank you for sending another sign this morning. Hope you all have a blessed weekend.

I love the family closeness so much. When I was a kid, I took for granted that all my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, my sister and I, all got along well. And my parents are still going strong, in 50 years (thus August!) I've never heard either one of them raise their voice or be rude to each other. And as I got older, it was quite a culture shock to learn just how many families are broken, or have one or more estranged family members. I suppose broken families are the result of living in a broken world. Today I am much more grateful for my sister, parents, and other close family members. It makes me happy to know that there are other families that put a high value on being together.

Katie, I too am a big REO fan. If you look at my user name you can probably figure out what my favorite song by them is. I think Gary is one of the most underrated guitarists out there. You two have one of my most favorite KZbin channels. Thank you for including us in your life.

I just wanted to say that you both gave some sound advice about going to college/trade school. Some people are definitely not college material and many times show a huge interest/talent in a trade. Our son, who is almost 29, chose to go to a trade school instead of college. While taking Ag classes in high school, he displayed a marked aptitude for welding. He went to trade school and in a matter of months he had all of his certifications in welding and had no problem finding a job. Additionally, he didn't have a gigantic student loan that would take years to pay off.

Talking about Merle Haggard my band opened for lots of country stars in the mid 90s and they had a dinner for us backstage so I went back there gotta steak and sat down at a little tiny table in walk's Merle picks up his steak and walks over to me and says "can I sit with you?" We had a conversation that lasted nearly an hour before the show. It was one of my most awesome musical memories. So you would have love talking Merle.

I'm a 26 year old Scot, a bit beyond the usual 65+ american crowd you usually have as viewers. One day the youtube algorithm showed me one of your mother's videos about appalachian words and after watching a few of those videos the algorithm showed me your videos. They really are pleasant. They feel like the videos of old youtube where people made videos just to make them and to be enjoyed, a lovely relief from the overly commercialised and homogenised videos of modern youtube. In these videos the genuine personalities shine through. My country is going through some tough times but these videos really ease the heart. Thank you for sharing them!

Oh gosh, this was fun and I didn't submit any questions, but realized many I had did get answered. I was puzzling over the curly/straight hair (husband is also a twin, but not identical like y'all). I had pegged Katie as being similar to dad/Corie similar to mom, disposition-wise (only was guessing). Some of those questions were difficult, I thought how hard some would be to answer. Great questions and answers here. Thank you, girls!

Great questions! Just curious when part two is coming. I know y'all are busy. This might be my new favorite category. (For a lack of a better term) Also wanted to give Matt a shout-out. Since he doesn't dress up much, I thought he looked sharp in that suit. Austin did too. But I think he was dressed up for the proposal. Your dad was a first. I had said before that I found out about you two through your mother and her KZbin channel. That's not true. I remember I used to follow The Bluegrass Cafe on FB. And someone shared y'all singing "You'll never leave Harlan alive." So I did some digging. And then found your mother because I had had an interest in Appalachian culture. But mainly KY & WV coal miners. But also have Cherokee Indian in me, so where y'all are located has had me interested as well. For a while, I've wanted to find more about my ancestry or at least that side of it. I continue to enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one. Everyone I'm sure has their preferences. Like the country and bluegrass songs. Not really a fan of folk. But that's because I didn't grow up on it. And l like the Driving in the South ones too. I'm contemplating on asking a faith based question on the next Q&A. That might get a little too personal for the both of us. It more about your perspective on certain things around faith. Hope y'all have a wonderful day.
