I don't think OP (ea; ThePrimeThanatos, there that was a lot of effort to type out his name wasn't it?) is an asshole. In fact, I've got a lot of respect for the time and energy he's putting into every mix. Actually, I'm beginning to get really sick of folks in the comment section shouting "where's the timestamps, shouldn't the uploader make those?". FUCK ALL OF YOU ENTITLED BRATS. Prime doesn't owe you JACK SHIT. You should be happy he's uploading all of these sweet mixes at all. And for zero dollars. And then there's folks like me who make the timestamps happily, just to add my two cents, and bingo, there's another entitled shit in the comment section praising me for making timestamps and bashing Prime over the head with it.. AND FOR WHAT? Prime's the one making the awesome mixes, not me.. I'm done. I'm just going to start blocking every last entitled kid that feels like they deserve to have everything served on a silver platter. Full disclosure: Reposted this reply on twitter

There's an ardent wish among many for a resurgence of a golden era for Cyberpunk-themed entertainment-movies, books, video games, and, of course, music. The prospect of returning to a time where this futuristic subculture flourished is both exciting and anticipated. The Cyberpunk realm not only brings engaging narratives but also a fusion of dystopian visions with high-tech aesthetics that captivate and resonate deeply. Anticipating a revival of such an immersive genre in various artistic forms stirs the imagination and evokes a sense of creative enthusiasm.

This is an awesome style to study. The 80's and 90's were the best decades of my life. Synthwave and Progressive Trance are still the best musical art forms out there. Popular music has been progressively sucking since the last good artists were rejected by radio society. Everything on the radio sucks. Glory be to the true composers!
@GiggaGMikeE6 жыл бұрын
"Popular music has been progressively sucking " is a line literally every generation has claimed.

And to a certain extent, every time, it has been true. Music has been losing it's complexity with every generation that passes.

With that logic, cavemen must have thrown together the most intricate symphonies and composed exponentially better than Beethoven, Bach, etc. Yeah I don't think you're right on this one. Goatse it was garabge. Didn't have the "retrowave" and neo-noir feel of the first nor the mysticism of the first. The music was lacklustre with it trying too hard given how stale it was (they should have used Vangelis). The characters were all boring and I couldn't care about any one of them. Nothing about the movie left a lasting impression, not the characters, the music/score, the dialogue, the scenes...nothing, unlike the first which makes me want to dream about it.

+Lolo Puhffs yes, but they're inspired by the music, films, TV, games, fashion, and artwork of the 80s... so "long live the 80s" and "long live synthwave" are very compatible statements even if synthwave itself isn't from the 80s. The 80s had New Wave and the beginnings of techno, the 90s had trance, house, breakbeat, and Drum 'n' Bass... the new century has Synthwave. And it was good.
@danny.nedelk06 жыл бұрын
g fox I was only drawing attention to technical facts. Music critics would find new wave to be different from synthwave musically and aesthetically even though they have things in common.

Sure. And I thumbed it up thanks to that technical accuracy. But methinks the OP really meant "long live the 80s / synth wave" or "long live the 80s and synthwave". IOW, long live the decade that inspired this modern genre of music, just... simplified for our modern internet typey world.

As a person who went into the universe of Blade Runner completely new, I can say that the 2049 Blade Runner was a good movie. Yes, the movie was slow at times, but the plot and atmosphere of the whole movie were mystical and ambiguous. As a newcomer to this universe with no knowledge of the history, I can say I would recommend this. Also I would like to state that THIS IS MY OPINION and people are free to disagree, but don't try to force your thoughts on someone else.
@miguelpereira98596 жыл бұрын
WilliamEntertainment Well there really isn't much to the "universe" out there. It's just this movie and the original. BTW, if you liked this one you'll probably like the original

There are also now animated Blade Runner shorts to fill in the gaps between the original and BR2049, so there's a bit more than just the two movies. I do wonder what the BR movies are like in another reality where we didn't have to wait from the early 80s till the late 10s for a 2nd movie, though. (imagine if there were as many BR movies as there are Alien movies, for instance).
