Calorie tracking is useful for everyone. Everyone needs to learn calorie values at the start , only then can one start not use it , but calorie counting educates a person . Learning calorie values of high energy food like olive oil and nuts and simple stuff like coffee with milk is very important to learn

Calorie tracking got me an eating disorder. If you have certain personality traits that make you susceptible, you can end up in a situation like that, and you won't know until you're deep in it. I think learning about nutrition as a whole would be much better. What foods you should include regularly into your diet for optimal health, and yes, the calorie density of different foods, but not tracking every single bite that goes into your mouth. That's a recipe for disaster for some people, speaking from experience.

@@Hikari7775not everything is about you though. Other people (the majority) should learn calories in their foods… otherwise what’s your solution? Extreme obesity rates? Cause congrats, that’s where we currently at Sorry to sound snippy, but I hate it when people with a mental disorder shame others for trying to help themselves. Should all gambling be outlawed because you’re a compulsive gambler? No. That’s my point here

i found the video verbose and useless: he tries to "out-think" your natural pleasure-seeking instinct of eating junk food, which in my opinion is a strategy that is not sustainable long-term for most people. so i'd say just Ozempic (or similar drugs) and a multivitamin, not necessarily forever but maybe only when you're overweight. alternatively, try Roy Taylor's approach and do a (medically supervised) very low calorie keto diet (800 kcal a day iirc): yes, Roy Taylor's weight loss approach is ketogenic, look at the nutrition facts of his meal replacement shakes, they are very low in carbs from what i remember, that's why hunger goes away after a day or two, that's why his patients find weight loss surprisingly easy. just like with Ozempic, i'd recommend repeating the 800 kcal diet maybe once a year for a month or two, thus maintaining a healthy weight long term. meal replacements are not needed, you can just design a very low calorie keto diet with a nutrition expert.
