And yet even the professionals will give you different diagnoses depending on what their area of expertise is as they are diagnosing you based on what fits best within their knowledge base. This is a really common thing to happen for people with late diagnosed ASD, ADHD etc, it is missed and you get anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPD etc instead.

It’s because they aren’t professionals, they’re just some people who did some projects in school for a few years and decided they knew what they were doing. It’s all a game to these people.

I agree on all of this. I have had to semi vocally slap a few people who have accused me of "finding" my neurological problems where there were none. I didn't start my road to autism referral. I went in trying to discover if it was poorly managed ADHD and significant mental health. My consultant doctor watched me for 10 minutes and dragged out to the a DCIM. It's only because my country's system for diagnosis in adults is badly broken, it's taken this long. To keep the wonderful metaphor. The power went out, the lightning kept striking. I turned around and saw my younger self, in tears struggling. I finally see her. I can finally support her.

There might be official mental health hotlines you could call! But from what i learned from a very experienced psychologist is that if you're noticing what's going on and have anxiety about your own thoughts/ overactive imagination then it's almost certainly OCD, and not you going 'insane'. It's the scaredness of being scared and it's extremely common and fine, and mostly comes from trauma/addiction. However, an official diagnose from a mental health professional is always helpful and probably necessary to get actual relief, because full recovery is possible. You can look up 'going crazy OCD' it's, way more common than you might think! Best wishes and get well soon :)

I don't agree. There are also abusive psychiatrists who can do defamation and fake diagnosis, and it can destroy a life. I did my own diagnosis and saved my own life by knowing what I had.

I had a friend with asd once and I saw a lot of behaviours that he had that were almost identical to behaviours that I had, so I asked my mom if I had asd and she started yelling at me, idk why, and she said that I don't have it, ect. Lo and behold, the next year, I was diagnosed with asd.

I do not agree to people having to check themselves for a mental illness. People who are close to the person, parent, teacher, relative should be able to take a person to get checked out for a mental illness!!!!!!!!
