London is much cheaper compared to New York, Sydney, and Toronto. You can get a sandwich for £2 in supermarkets and a pint of beer for £4 in pubs or a can of beer for just £1 in supermarkets. You stay way too far from the city, this is why it cost you £7 to travel but then a 2 hour ride in a train for £7 isn't that expensive. In Switzerland, you can get to Interlaken from Bern in 1 hour, and it costs way more. In Southall, you can get a plate of Biryani for just £5 whereas in Switzerland, the cheapest Biryani or a meal I found was 25 Swiss francs. You can't find food or groceries that cheap in other developed countries.There is no additional tax or compulsory tip on purchases like in Canada and the USA. Try to visit a Tesco/Asda supermarket, and you will be surprised to see how cheap the UK really is. If someone is thinking of settling in a foreign country on a student visa, forget about going to the UK. Visa is really tough to renew, and getting a PR is really hard. Go to Canada or Australia instead, but if you plan to return back to India after you finish your studies, the UK is the best place to go.

Southhal is was already occupied by Punjabis right from the 50s and 60s this is one of the oldest Punjabi settlements in the world outside India/Pakistan.

@@TheUndertaker2408 I understand. I am just not sure if existence of complete subculture concentrated in a very small area is good for anyone. I live in Berlin and have never been to London. There is a street in Berlin which is dominated by Arab subculture and is definitely a source of lot of stress and friction in the city. But maybe South-hall is more integrated and peaceful.
