@@TheRacingJoker The Charger blew up because there was some barrels there with flammable liquid (Probably gas or other fuels) and according to some behind the scenes stuff, Dom's dad's charger is gone after this film but because he favors that car a lot he buys a lot of them every time they get destroyed. So it's been acknowledged that his car isn't the same one. In fast 5, 6, 7 & 8 he acquires more Chargers that are later modified In those films for different purposes. In the latest film he has one in a barn that never gets used once and 2 others are seen at the start which is just a carbon fiber shell with custom parts made to look like a 70 charger and the end of the film with the mid engine 68 Widebody Charger.

You could do some classic car chase scenes: To Live and Die in LA, The 7-ups, Ronin, Countless James Bond movies, The Rock, etc. Not exactly car movies, but prominent car scenes. But car movies to look at for sure: The Wrath, The Car, the original Gone in 60 Seconds and it's "sequel" The Junkman, (and if you can find the 30 minute cut of Gone in 60 Seconds 2, look at that for sure) The Driver, Torque, Cannonball Run, Deathrace 2000 and the remake Deathrace, Black Dog (for big trucks), Smokey and the Bandit, etc. There's plenty of good stuff out there once you get beyond F&F.

To make sense of the charger coming back at the end, the movie doesn’t do a good job explaining the time between Dom’s sentencing. When you get arrested for something you don’t get sentenced to prison right away. With Dom’s record sheet and charges, Unless you have a crazy good lawyer to get you bail or keep your case active, you will sit in jail for months to years waiting on sentencing. Dom most likely didn’t have money for an expensive lawyer so he probably spent a couple months to nearly a year in county jail giving Brian x amount of months to either rebuild the remnants of the charger from the tunnel, or just buy a new one and start from there.

Dom already has tons of money stashed away at this point. He's always racing and doing lucrative odd jobs. So it makes sense he told someone where he stashed it and recovered that car. Who knows how much time has passed between the crash in the tunnel and that car coming back to rescue Dom. And I can bear witness to a car being completely restored in about 30 days. I've seen full on wrecked, destroyed, had been sitting for 30 years. However movie magic said that can rebuild a completely destroyed 1970 charger in a week.

My theory on how the Charger survived the wreck: Since Brian is a FBI agent maybe when Border Patrol were investigating the scene and the secret cave maybe he found the husk of the car and took it as "evidence" and rebuilt it while Dom was incarcerated till his trial, as it could take a couple months to a year for a trial date and evidence collection. Theory 2: Not the same car. Brian bought another 70 and built it like Dom's car

Ha the Subaru WRX sti hatch i groaned in the theatre. Good car but not suited to this film at all. If they had a scene maybe where they needed a more ralley based 4wd system for the tunnel system or something then I could get on board but it was blatant product placement with no explanation to why. The whole thing with the new ones is they want cars fit to purpose .....could have started it here would have been a more in line with where they were headed with the series.
