That's freakin' crazy! Somebody is getting paid hand over fist. The HALO cost a whopping $17,000. Steering wheel at$100,000. _I read somewhere that 10 years ago carbon fiber cost about $150 per pound. As of 2020, the average total production cost of carbon fiber is in the range of $7.00-$9.00 per pound._

It doesn't quite cost them $24m, because a huge part of that are the development costs, not the manufacturing costs. The teams cost to manufacture another engine is a fraction of what was quoted here, it's just that if you divide up the total costs by the number of engines they end up being expensive. These things aren't mass-produced.

I just thought about one thing mate, what if FIA add some sort of international series where drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen all drive for their national teams. Suppose ‘Team Great Britain’ has Lewis and Lando, with ‘Team Spain’ having Sainz and Alonso.... and so on with another 10, 15 countries it’d add a bit of ‘FIFA WORLD CUP’ feeling, making automobile motorsport more popular.

I'd take 90K straight up for the tools and software to home build a ford gt mk40 or BAC mono, take about 120K for operating costs over the course of a 2 year window, take an additional 100K for marketing and business investing for community outreach, and put the rest into a high yield index fund and silver

It’s actually much more than 12.2 million. That’s a parts only cost, the car itself but you haven’t factored in all the RND costs to get there. The cost of your engineers, factories and tools, CNC machines ect. All your failed research and development parts needs to be also factored into the costs of the car. Come out with new bits to add to the car don’t always get you desired results, well whether the upgrades worked or not you still spent money to develop said part. It’s more in the 60-80 million dollar range for an F1 car. But sure for arguments sake the car itself in a standard package without any other costs would be 12.2 million. Let’s be real though you’re not buying an F1 car without the rest that comes with it.
