Shadow of the Colossus is an action-adventure video game developed by Bluepoint Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It is a remake of the original PlayStation 2 game using ultra-high definition art assets. The remake is led by Bluepoint, who developed the earlier PlayStation 3 remaster, with assistance from SIE Japan Studio. The developers remade all the game's assets from the ground up, but the game retains the same gameplay from the original title aside from the introduction of a new control scheme.
The game's storyline focuses on a young man named Wander who enters a forbidden land. Wander must travel across a vast expanse on horseback and defeat sixteen massive beings, known simply as colossi, in order to restore the life of a girl named Mono. The game is unusual within the action-adventure genre in that there are no towns or dungeons to explore, no characters with whom to interact, and no enemies to defeat other than the colossi. Shadow of the Colossus has been described as a puzzle game, as each colossus' weakness must be identified and exploited before it can be defeated.

Brad you're missing a lot of lizards. Kill them with your bow and arrow to improve grip strength...especially the silver tailed ones. Look for fruit in the trees as well.

Don't forget to hunt and eat the white tailed lizards (use your bow) that scurry over the various shrines. They increase your stamina circle gradually. This gives you eventually enough stamina in combination with the extra you get each time you defeat a colossus to climb the temple to get to the secret garden area.

There are 77 white-tailed lizards. Each one you kill adds 1 to your stamina bar. Killing them all when you know what you're doing takes about 5 hours. There are 16 colossi. Each one you kill adds 8 to your stamina bar, for a total of 128. Killing them all when you know what you're doing takes about 4 hours. Stamina upgrades carry over to new game+, which also respawns all of the lizards and all of the colossi. It takes about 500 stamina to climb the tower. Just saying, if your goal is to climb the tower as fast as possible, you're probably better off ignoring the lizards.

True :) I think I just about managed it near the end of my second playthrough. Like most of the game though there is not much to see when you get there and nothing much happens but the fun is in the getting there. Llike catching the eagles feet and being taken for a a brief flight or diving underwater in some places and catching a fish and being pulled through the water.

1:20 does this game have a really short draw distance on grass or is it something with the lightning ? seems when you ride around that bend onto the bridge, the grass pops up a few meters infront of you.. the field below the temple seems fine, just that area before the bridge..

I always felt bad for killing Phaedra. In the original it sounded like a wounded deer when you stabbed it. That coupled with the way it fell just made me sad :( still an awesome game though!

I'm confused, a massive PlayStation fan myself I have never played this game, but am more than aware of the reputation this game holds. The art style is great and the concept awesome, but I am really disappointed with the gameplay. Essentially a game where you climb monsters using their hair and stab them in their shiny parts (mostly their head) and then die, return to your base and repeat the process with another. Everything is too signposted for me in terms of where you climb and how to kill, obviously at the time this was released this was way ahead of its time, however looking at this with 2019 eyes (been gaming since the 90's), it falls a little short for me... Just my opinion.

What? If people actually think this game is boring, each colossus is very different and need a different strategy to beat them, also getting to each one is already a challenge. Each fight is unique and exciting and it keeps getting better. This is anything but boring. The story will also hit you in the feels!

As a PS4 game in 2018, this is game is absolutely horrendous.The control mechanics and camera control are from more than 15 years ago... The fresh coat of paint has all the old nostalgic dudes feeling like they were back in their mom's basement playing this on their PS2. Absolutely horrible!!! gaming experience!!! Hi, I just bought this game. Thinking it was an adventure game like god of war , but it sucks. The whole game is the same you have to kill all the collosous monster and that's it, you can't find weapons , treasures and other stuff, is just kill the enemy consecutive one by one.

You do not wait to climb the tassels on his face. It's literally almost impossible and I don't know how you did it. You wait until his back side crosses one of the high parts in the middle. You lure him across that section and run through underneath and come behind him until he is at the edge. Aligning his backside with a hill portion of it. He will then lower it so you can climb onto it. The way you showed would literally take years to accomplish and I don't know how you did it lol. Bravo though.

@theRadBrad In the original if you eat some lizard tails it will build your stamina. Are you able to do it in this version? Should be able to find and shoot a lizard with your bow. It will leave a tail behind that you can eat if I remember correctly. Would be curious to see that.
