What an awesome collection of games! Many I have played, and many I've never seen before. It was so worth mowing the grass to spend my hard earned allowance at the local arcades. Bad Dudes, Final Fight. Golden Axe, Sengoku and TMNT were some of my favorites. I'm always bummed to see that Sega never includes the arcade port of Golden Axe in home console collections. The Genesis version was missing subtle details. Gilius Thunderheads axe wasn't even gold. Wish I could play Golden Axe Death Adder, Metamorphic Force, and The Punisher, they look righteous. To bad more software companies don't release arcade collections for PS4/XB1. There is something about the arcade ports that are magical. Shinobi, Tron, and the Disc's of Tron will always be my top three favorite arcade titles.

Arcade FF1 and Mighty final fight are the only strong games they had and FF1 is now very old, swarms of enemies thrown at you randomly, AI is ridiculous, the whole game is just a MASH fest designed to make you spit money. Its simple, fighting game in late 70's created the genre, double dragon popularized it, final fight defined all the rules and perfected them. I respect that but say it's still relevant is just pure nostalgia. FF2 is a big pile of dog shit, FF3 could've been a good game if they actually polished it and made it harder.

So many good games. Just hearing the Double Dragon 2 music puts me into a whirlwind of nostalgia. I remember when that Ninja Turtles came out in the arcade. The first time I saw it was in a game room at a campsite in Ohio. I was about 7 or 8 years old. My uncle had given me some quarters to go play some games to keep me busy. There was a whole group of kids around the TMNT game. When I finally saw an open joystick, I popped my quarter in and set the rest of the down by my buttons. I think I had 2 or 3 dollars in quarters. When my game was over, I reached to get another quarter to continue playing and noticed someone had stolen my quarters. I was so fuckin' sad. The Turtles were my favorite back then. When they released the game on Nintendo I was really happy. It turned out pretty good on the 8-bit console compared to the arcade version. And prayed that kid that stole my quarters belonged to a poor family that couldn't afford it. lol Just kidding. Great game though.

@@vandamme8866 I was talking technically and graphically. Anyway Double Dragon copied Renegade and any beat em up that came after it you want to take that stance

Bruce Lee games , Jacky Chan games .... I can't remember the van Damme games (Johnny Cage etc. doesn't count) (StreetFighter the Movie neither) (Pitfighter : No) (Or they were so bad no body remembers them ? Wrong Bet !)

I think the greatest thing about these games was the sound. I forget the name for it, but the association with a punch/kick/attack and its impact makes it feel good. The great beat-em-ups all had in common, to me, was that feedback. I never got to play many of these arcade games though. I wish I did, but SOOO expensive at the time. Final Fight in the arcade, the experience was wonderous.Primal Rage was awesome but that was because of the huge cabinets with big screens and a BOOMING sound system. Killer Instinct was phenomenal, which IMO was the best arcade fighter. The music, the sound, the ULLLLTRAAAAAAA COOOMMMBOOOOOOOOO

I’m hoping Urban Reign will be playable on the PS5. I don’t think people realize how awesome that game is.

That game is the only beat em up game that surpasses every beat em up game to this point Made in 2002 and yet that game was legendary, they mixed 3d graphics so amazingly, the battle, the defense, the abilities, the modes, the weapons Its soo soo good. Its really hard for me to see tekken being the more famous one😑 Man i really want a real time multiplayer URBAN REIGN, cross platform, damn it would be amazing, will get best game of the year easily

I really wish they remade Turtles in Time with today's graphics.

They did, and it failed compared to the original only because Konami didn't make or even produce for it
