What Midway understood long before most of their competitors, was sound. Their games, especially in the '80s and '90s, had amazing audio. In this, they really stood apart.

back then, there were 3 companies I dreamed of working with when it came to audio, Capcom, Konami, and Midway. same with dream collaborations. like, what if Nintendo had Midway as its official arcade partner, then we could’ve seen Smash as an arcade title, that would’ve been great, then a true arcade platformer and adventure with Mario, or if capcom didn’t wanna do it, cause disney and capcom did have a partnership back then, but in arcades, their forte in the 90’s was fighters, so if capcom didn’t wanna do it, Midway could’ve been disney’s partner. imagine a true arcade game based off the disney parks, or games based off the disney afternoon lineup, or one saturday morning. like, I been picturing arcade titles like beat em ups or adventure titles based off recess, gummy bears, goof troop, Darkwing Duck, the Mighty Ducks, something like that. now back to the midway/nintendo dream collab. had they continued on to the mid to late 2000’s, I myself, thought they could’ve made better on a Mario Kart arcade racer. I mean, they made hits off the cruisin series, but imagine the hit they could’ve made with both Mario Kart, and maybe Diddy Kong Racing. then maybe late 2k could’ve saw an arcade port for Banjo Pilot. as for the pinball division, Mario could’ve also had great luck there I feel. the soundtrack would’ve been off the hook! maybe if they did it late 90’s, early 2k, they could incorporate sounds and stages from the original 3, world, and 64, or in the 2000’s, aside from those games, they could have added some elements from sunshine, the party series, especially the star space, or the bowser space. then also a bit of Yoshi’s island, and the NSMB and galaxy series.

Great company. They made some incredible arcade clássica in golden era. Them later they were the master of cheesy 2d digitalised graphics and histérical sound samples. Since they left the business not One single company reproduções this qualities. The 2d Animations on mortal Kombat were crazy and fun and the sport announcer in MBA jam were quite unique.

@jackofallgamesTV3 жыл бұрын
@@jonniefast do you consider gen 2 just 2600, Astrocade, Fairchild, RCA and Odyssey 2, while generation 3 is INTV, Coleco, 5200, Vectrex and Emerson? If so, it was powerful enough to be a Gen 3 Console. Why do people conflate these 2 generations? and how do they explain 2 Atari systems, the 2600 and 5200, one meant to replace the other, being in the same generation? The video game industry was very different before the INTV and Activision, and after them. The 5200 and Coleco had a system war, while everyone was making 2600 games, including Mattel and Coleco.

bally takes the cake in terms of hardcore analog gameplay on crt sets, atari 2600/5200 up next due to the sheer library of excellent activision titles. i love my intelevision and coleco but the controllers really are not great & im afraid of damaging them even further have adapters wired up for 2600 to odyssey2 as well but tbh i really havent played it as much as i thought i would (ufo is still awesome though) i got into the older systems as an electronics hobbyist (EE degree) & i enjoy tinkering 😇

Pac-Man[a] is a Japanese video game franchise published, developed and owned by Bandai Namco Entertainment (formerly Namco). Entries have been developed by a wide array of other video game companies, including Midway Games, Atari and Mass Media, Inc.. The eponymous first entry was released in arcades in 1980 by Namco, and published by Midway Games in North America.

@jackofallgamesTV3 жыл бұрын
@@robertgodlewski8553 i thought Namco was the "main" owner and Midway was the American releaser of the game. Also Bally/Midway was the American releaser of Space Invaders. Bally was so confident they had the hone rights to Namco and Taito games that they made Astrocade versions without negotiating a separate hone license. Well Atari went straight to Japan to get deals with Namco and Taito and bought the hone rights from under Bally's nose. Now Bally has to "rename" their home games to avoid copyright disputes with Atari. BTW Bally Muncher > 2600 Pac Man. Muncher had only one "flaw" the ability to stand still in the maze without wiggling your stick.
