@@prakashchandrasharma1009 True. Earlier I remember it used to be mostly before time by 10-20 mins but now since it has still the ICF coaches it needs to give way to the LHB ones, that is what I guess the reason for the delay.

I got an answer from a very learned railwayman. This is the effect of Intelligent Low Idle feature, that saves fuel during idle by dropping the speed without compromising on low oil pressure. Before corona quarantine, twin Alcos of Tondiarpet leading Chennai Shirdi Sai express via Yeshvantpur was the best chuggers. However on re introduction in 5 2022 it was now led by RPM P7 or P4. So the last remaining bestie alco led is Mysore Kacheguda Exp and Haripriya Exp between KOP to Tirupati. thanks sir

In the 90s and 2000s these locos were a mainstay in S C Railway as well as on the Mumbai-Hyd route. Minar exp, Hyd exp as well as Hussainsagar exp had these locos too. Loved the sound then, miss it now. But all's well that ends well I guess. Electrification is good for the planet!

Beautiful capture but feels like the engine is not transmitioning up to 8th notch. That whistle blows out completely at full throttle and 8th notch plus the chugging pace is faster

You may not need the full throttle power of the twin Alcos for hauling a 24 coach train at 105-110 kmph, that weighs only ~1200 tonnes. By contrast, a fully loaded freight train weight could be ~4500 tonne, which would definitely need the full power to achieve balancing speeds.
