Awesome video! Yesterday I was filming a local train when they changed crews. They also changed their train number from L04 to L10 when the new crew boarded. That was interesting.

@@JawTooth that’s interesting…. I know the local in Lafayette has D96 which is the night train and D95 that’s the day train. I just looked it up L04 is the Middletown to Middletown and the L10 is the Middletown to Springfield both daily trains.

@@therailroadtiespiker They have a street running section of track in Franklin Ohio. They use it a few times a week and yesterday I finally got them using it again. it was only a single locomotive on the street section through. But it was a 6 axle Lol

About a month ago some motorists really screwed things up on the CPKC Chicago to Twin Cities Main by driving around the gates and colliding with the Amtrak Borealis. It never fails this is on a single track section and probably tied up at least four trains and if someone runs low on time it's a moderate drive to get them there. Last year had one in Milwaukee where an oil train struck an auto. They deemed the lead locomotive okay to keep on going not too messed up but if it was lack of time or a post accident drug test the following freight train was added to it which made for a double megatrain. Since the passenger trains are Amtrak with their Crews and we have no through Freights originating or terminating here it's just a handful of employees to cover a couple switch jobs and two locals. Quite a change from the years gone by

I actually transport norfolk southern crews to and from they're trains/hotels depending on they're shifts. I left Muncie Indiana hub which is my local hub and drove to Peru Indiana for crew pick up then to Oakwood yard Detroit Michigan. Just night before last. What a haul for one nights drive I'll tell ya. It's cool to ask all the crews the many questions I've have and get paid to do it. Lmao.

I've been seeing a lot of 6 axle engines lately, what's up with that?
@stevenbelsky16523 күн бұрын
I think most railroads are using their 4 axle locomotives for locals and yard switching.
@MrNorth69Күн бұрын
Because they stopped building 4 axle engines in the 1990s. class 1s use them for local or yard switching. Closist 4 axle engines made are the GEVO C4s. 6 axles with only 4 traction motors. I've ran loads of them
