Hoping that your Christmas went well it's been extremely dreary here in Wisconsin was dense fog drizzle and now rain. @11:20 that load of structural steel has already snapped a few of those plastic bands and my eyes fixed on the GBRX tank car directly behind with the red hazmat placard. While not the weakest securement I'd hate to see them go sliding into that car. Kind of funny to watch the truck honking his way up and down the street and how the NB Freight sure has a niche origin and destination. With the CN restructuring over the years one winds up with trains such as Gary IN the old EJ&E yard. To Memphis TN but it also makes several critical pickups and set outs. It was interesting how that little local had but two customers to serve yet it had a fair number of cars. No wonder why their ketchup tastes sweeter it's those nine cars of high fructose corn syrup

Some locomotives have been equipped with cameras to give better visibility running long hood forward. This has been done in China for sure.

that is short ain't it... i'd bet NS would like them to go the extra 59 miles to lafayette

For years that was the old Milwaukee Road distance Bensenville to Milwaukee and then it was increased to Portage WI which is probably another 60 to 70 miles. Of course since the CP started taking over back in the 1990s quite a number of trains originate at foreign yards in the Chicago area not just Bensenville
@25mfd16 күн бұрын
@@paulbergen9114 hey paul, for a LONG TIME, a basic day on a road job was 100 miles... 12.5 x 8 = 100... that was the standard going back to at least 1946... your description about cp increasing the run from Bensenville to portage, that's called a interdivisional run... the daily rate of pay increases to pretty sizable amount as well... definitely not uncommon for roads do that... but it only works if the track speed is also increased
