Inference needs to happen at the edge (mobile) and training will not have the same amount of demand as time goes on. Remember when Citrix aggregated desktops with VDI and then it imploded because VDI has a problem with latency? AI Inference in the datacenter has the same problem with latency. It's $1,584,000 more than paying 15% 2. There are plenty of ways to diversify her portfolio, use the money in her portfolio and greatly reduce the tax. Selling to diversify is one of the worst things she can do. 3. She needs to speak with a tax attorney fast, because how her stock is held will make an enormous difference. Let's say it is in her 401K. That means it is subject to ordinary income tax, even if it is a stock, because she can't use Net Unrealized Gains because she doesn't work for the company anymore. The first day SCHD is positive in your IRA, sell it and focus on growth stocks. SCHD is a great retirement fund once you have a lot of cash. It's what an annuity should be. Pay you consistently yet doesn't F you in so many ways like the annuity... 50 SCHD, 25 JEPI (less year over year growth but pays out much more to increase your income), 25% rock solid single companies paying consistently monthly or quarterly. Earns you income, and you don't touch much. Dividends don't get you to the finish line fast enough, they ARE the finish line.

The most important question was not asked… what kind of account is this stock sitting in? If it’s in a profit sharing 401k then capital gains have nothing to do with the question. It can be rolled into an IRA and diversified free of tax then and there. Then you’re taxed on distributions. If these are ISO’s or NSO’s then she will show income when she exercises the options. IF these are sitting in a non qualified account like they’re assuming with little to no basis then she will only Pay 15% because cap gains do not increase your taxable income which is what the rates are based on.

Calculation: The stock price increased by a factor of approximately 731 (from $0.18 to $131.60). If the stock is worth $18 million today, we can calculate how much needed to be invested in 2004 by dividing $18 million by 731. So, the initial investment would have been: $24,623. Thanks GPT. It's wise to stay proactive and diversify assets to manage risks during uncertain times. I’ve delegated my financial management to a consultant after facing a major downturn in late 2019 during the COVID outbreak. Today, I'm semi-retired and about 25% short of my $1 million retirement target after making additional contributions.

"Laurelyn Gross Pohlmeier," a well-known authority in this field. I would recommend looking into her credentials more because she has a great deal of expertise and is a great resource for anybody looking for advice on how to navigate the financial market.

Love that Dave recommends professional advice here. 15 or 20% is the federal cap gains tax, Washington state is an additional 6.5% plus local typically gets you close to an additional 10%. She should consider direct indexing to generate some losses to transition part of the holding over time and simultaneously use “at the money” covered calls to generate income on the way out. If they are charitable, a Charitable remainder trust would defer during life, and eliminate at death, all capital gains tax while simultaneously allowing income flows back to the family at a percentage greater than their current income. Both easily implementable strategies that are much better than simply selling for the sake of diversification.

Very nice job covering the basics. I am sharing this not to brag but to show what’s possible. I’m retired and I have 2 separate portfolios. One is a long term growth dividend portfolio of stocks where i sell covered calls strategically and my 2nd portfolio is the Crypto trading strategy where its all about income. This year I am on pace to make $120K in realized options profits and around $869K in crypto profit... What is great is that my long-term portfolio is still up significantly as well. As such, it’s possible to generate excellent income but still have a total return perspective. ...Amidst this, the insights of a knowledgeable guide like that of Expert Shellane Maxwell can be crucial. Her expertise in navigating the nuances of trading has been the key for Me understanding and making the most of these emerging financial trends.

How would you recommend i enter the crypto market? I am also looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach? and How can i reach her, if you don't mind me asking?

Decent advice for a novice. Many of us have an idea of what she owns. It has potential to continue to rise. So here is what a pro does. They don't sell the shares. They use a "collar" options strategy. It is essentially the combination of a protective put with a covered call. It costs you a little upside, but it protects you incase the stock falls. You continue to ride the stock until you are way more sure it won't produce outsized gains. Then you start to sell and pay the tax man.

To have 18 million and have a detailed plan to evade 5% tax truly shows why the USA is the country it is.

Let her pay for what she likely voted for. I'm tired of people voting blue and then leaving for red states to destroy their new home state like they destroyed the original one.

Dave, you didn't ask how it was held. 401k, ira, there's no immediate tax consequences if she sells.

I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?

Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience. If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.

Yes, I agree. I use a financial advisor too. Same person since 2020. I don't worry about whether the economy is going up or down or sideways. I always ride through.

@@PatrickLloyd- Oh I've heard similar things about hiring an advisor. It's hard to choose one that's very good though. Could you make some useful recommendations?

I've stuck with SOPHIE LYNN CARRABUS since the pandemic, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field with over two decades of experience, simply look her up.
