At 16, he had a baby. At 17, he started in the car business making 130k/year while attending nursing school. At 18, he had another kid, kept making 130k/yr and kept studying in nursing school. Amazing stuff, almost impossible to believe that someone has enough time in their day to do all this. If you have this kind of drive, you can clear this debt. He's working 3 nights/week already and you asked him to pick up more. That might be ok in some fields, but in the medical field there's an issue of fatigue and safety. A nurse can't hustle it out indefinitely while guaranteeing they don't make mistakes.

Now he is married with 3 kids and was able to complete his nursing degree and now working as a RN. He sounds like he's fully aware of his young and dumb mistakes at the age of 21. His biggest mistake is just the 2 car loans, $2800/month = super high interest rates for a young man. Then the $18k credit card. Once he gets out of debt I would love to see a follow up video of him 10 years from now.

Anyone reading this please ignore this comment. Do NOT aim to get into 350k debt and do NOT have so many kids so young. This is not a flex and life is not a race. Take your time, find your passion and develop your skill sets and take the slow and steady path in life. It will develop your character and you will reach your goals.

Making 130k is a hell of a living, and at 21 he has a future in this, maybe more than medical. I don’t understand the career switch unless he’s really averse to sales
@Bob-yh7ir5 ай бұрын
Well hopefully he has learned a hard lesson early in life and will be in a great position going forward and for his life. The fact that he called in and knows he has a problem is about 90% of the problem addressed. Would love to hear him call back in at 25 or 30 and see how things are going.

This call is the apex of "This doesn't add up." He was able to get two mortgages totaling about $350K by the age of 21. He's 21 years old and his oldest child is 5 years old, so he was 16 (maybe even 15) when he got his wife/girlfriend pregnant? Has worked in the car business for 4 years, so he was 17 when he started, I assume, selling cars, since he wouldn't have made $130K doing anything else. He's now a nurse and went to school for it. It would've been difficult to get an associate's degree in nursing in that time frame with all of the other stuff going on. If all of this stuff is true (I'm skeptical), this guy is a super hard worker, but has received some of the absolute worst influences in his life.

Well, he managed to have 3 kids, purchase 2 homes, over purchase 2 cars, get married, and go to nursing school while working between the ages of 16 and 21. He packed a lot of grown up life into 5 years. If anyone can get out of this mess then I think that it will be this young man. At least he is driven, energetic, and willing to do hard work to better his life. Most people wait until they are 35+ years before they try to correct the path that they are on.

He went to high school and nursing school at the same time when he was 17 but not before having a litter of kids by the age of 13. When he was 15 he bought two houses and almost $100k in cars. His wife is a super model who gave up the runway to be a housewife. All his kids are in private boarding school and the oldest has been accepted to Harvard as a kindergartener.
@aaronmurphy87965 ай бұрын
Really doesn’t seem that bad . 250 of the debt is a rental . 90 is cars . Once he sells all that he’s 21 making 80k with like 2800 of surplus income a month . Seems like a great spot to be

The fact that he called is admirable and he seems to really want to clear the financial mess. As a nurse, who has been financially successful in the past (at a really young age).... he'll get out of this! As long as he stays disciplined and has a spouse that is onboard....they can clear it! It would be helpful if his wife could find something remote....even if PT...as it needs to be all hands on deck for a while. When he comes home from work, he should get some sleep (since he works night) and then get up to care for the children,while she works her remote role. With her working and him picking up a couple of extra shifts they should get this debt gone and hopefully never return to that place financially again!
