Well to someone like Dave 4000 is likely not a lot to miss out on because he has millions. But for business people who only have 1000's 4000 is a lot to not collect on. It is true Dave is a landlord but much of his money likely came from his original book, FP university, and KZbin etc. It is likely that the outcome would be different if rentals were his only source of revenue!!!! People forget that when it comes to running a business serious underpayment can create problems and that is why so many businesses use small claims court. Your quote: (If Dave was the landlord, I doubt he would be perfectly happy to collect 2,000 on rent when he should have received 6,000.)

There is a reason why Islam bans gambling, drugs and alcohol. It may look like a harsh and straight-down ruling and you may not agree (and that is fine!) but it cannot be denied that gambling and alcohol have ruined millions of families over the course of history. It is a serious addiction and if someone is hinting for help, such a person needs all the help available. I hope this person becomes an advocate to help others out of their addiction.

Dave, I currently have 100% of my work-matched 401k in FXAIX, allocating 10% of my paycheck into it. Do you think this is a bad idea? It’s also my only retirement account as the rest of my savings is going towards paying off my car and a burial plot. Otherwise I have no debt. I am 24 years old.

@macneoh7418
@macneoh7418 2 жыл бұрын
You need to be better diversified. Look into other investments as well as FXAIX. I would have a goal of saving/investing at least 15% of income. 10% is too low, regardless of the employer matching. Also, start thinking on diversifying your income or a secondary source of income. Start a small business with as little investment as possible, but keep working your primary job. This business doesn't have to be elaborate or complicated, it just has to bring in some extra money. This is assuming you have a good emergency fund. Finally, why are you concerned about a burial plot at 24? Unless you have something really specific that you must have, I wouldn't worry about it.
@locke3859
@locke3859 2 жыл бұрын
@@macneoh7418 Thank you for your advice. Also, I went ahead and bought a plot next to my parents so I would have one, I see it as a great investment imo as plots, especially in larger cities multiply in value every year as there’s less and less space for burials. In 60+ years plots that are worth $7k now will easily be $30k+. So it may be a burden on myself at such a young age, however I believe it is justified for my older self.
