It was the Asura named "SWARABHANU" who remained disguised in the queue of Devas for getting Amruta (the nectar of Immortality). Surya Deva and Chandra Deva (the Sun and the Moon Gods) identified him that he is NOT Deva but an Asura and complained to Mohini (Lord Vishnu's Avatar) who was distributing the Amruta to Devas. Lord Vishnu with his weapon Sudarshan Chakra cut his neck as punishment, then his HEAD became RAHU and his BODY became KETU. HEAD without body = never-ending thirst of worldly desires, it never satisfies as it does NOT have stomach to get fulfilled ==> signifies RAHU BODY without head = detachment from worldly desires, as it is the stomach which has already consumed the nectar ==> signifies KETU Position where RAHU sits in birth chart shows one will have wildly strong desires to achieve things related to that area of life, whereas on opposite side where KETU sits in chart, one will feel detached isolated in that area of life. Astronomically, RAHU and KETU are TRULY EXISTING mathematical POINTS, unlike other 7 physical planets. RAHU is North Node and KETU is South Node of Moon's orbit around Sun and Earth's equatorial plane intersection. By the boon of Lord Brahma to Swarabhanu (Rahu-Ketu) for just drinking Amruta nectar's drop, they already became immortal and are revolving around as nodes eclipsing Sun and Moon whom the Asura Swarabhanu cursed as they had revealed his true identity. !!! We have all seen them. About a year ago, there was a partial solar eclipse here in Australia. The sun moving left as usual, but then the body moving across the face of the moon was moving to the right. A few hours later the sun set and moon rose. So if the moon was the body I saw during the eclipse, he'd already pasted the sun, then set then rose again afew hours later. Impossible. No. In astronomical terms, they are positions of the moon's orbit with respect to the earth. so basically they are imaginary points. There are plenty of explainer videos that talk about the moons orbit around the earth and how these Rahu/Ketu points are formed. Really interesting, do check them out.

Cuz they don't have head. They don't speculate. They blindly follow their guru. If they get the right guru (if Jupiter is strong) then they get moksha and go back to god head. Ketu is the ultimate controller/giver of Moksha (enlightenment). For that, we need to understand the importance of 0 (zero). In order to achieve infinity (success / "permanent" happiness / Moksha), we need to first go through zero (failures / letting go off things). In Math, how is infinity achieved : anything divided by tending to zero, tends to infinity. Ketu controls this "tending towards 0"ness to give the outcome flavour of infinity which Rahu controls. More Happiness comes from Less Things i.e. Pareto's principle. Spirituality states the same - go inwards within self, all the answers are within yourself, let go off unwanted clutter, need to detach from worldly temporary material pleasures. Sorry bro I am a huge fan of your podcasts but the origin of swaymbharu (rahu/ketu) which we say in today's daine age is so wrong. Why out of all the asuras which included Raja Bali the king of patal loka was not destined to have nectar but only swaymbharu? It is because he was a son of simika who prayed to lord to Brahma and wanted his son to become graha ...now in all our lagna and till D12 cahrt we have rahu ketu seperated in 180 degree position but if you go higher in charts like chaturvasamsa, vimshamsa you will see that in charts both rahu and ketu are sitting in one house as they belong to higher divisional plains .. till D12 you will see rahu and ketu 180 degree opposite is because it belongs to the earthy plain and rahu represents kama, moha, desire and obsession whereas ketu represents spiritualism, detachment and moksha... Also swaymbharu was destined to sit between sun and moon and between any other planets or devas because for him to became graha he had to be present till sun and moon exists.. because surya narayana is embodiment of all the universe and Chandra represents nakshatra
