The most appropriate take on rap! As a rap listener since 12+ years and 5+.years of trying to write it too, I feel relieved. Singers always downgrade rap to there's no scale or soul to the rap but Rap is all about the pen , the words! The lyricist is the narrator and conveys the written with the real emotion he wrote it with and about lyricism no genre of music reaches that.

I was fortunate to be at a private Birthday party in Singapore, where Sonu was the celebrity guest. “ Abhi mujh mein kahin” was my constant request to him which he sang in the end. I did get a chance to talk to him, when everyone was busy clicking pictures… and I told him “ this is your best song” and he immediately gave me a Hi-five. That's why mainstream people see this as a chhapri genre. But real rap is completely different. In real rap Artists have to write their own lyrics. And it is not about only rhyming last words, it has a lot of complex things, like multi syllable rhymes, internal rhyme schemes, refrences, metaphor, Wordplays. It is very difficult to write rap lyrics and as well as very difficult to understand those lyrics. You will need a very high IQ to understand those lyrics. You can check out artists like KR$NA, EPR, Muhfaad, KARMA amd their are a lot of artists.
