Therapeutic Music Activity for Alzheimer's and Dementia

This video has provided a wonderful service for residents in our memory care community! Lindi is amazing live but this video has just added another facet to the joy that Lindi brings to senior communities! We had a viewing of this video in the Memory Care unit of Pacifica Senior Living - Snohomish. It was incredible watching how our residents here reacted. We showed the video later in the day, at a time when many of our residents normally begin sun downing. We saw residents who are unable to sit still actually sit down and were so enthralled by the video that they were clapping, singing along and kept focus for the entire video. The familiarity of Lindi's songs brings so many smiles to our resident's faces, even while watching the video. Now of course, I would highly recommend having Lindi come perform live, but this video provides more opportunities for residents to enjoy her music! This video will definitely become part of the routine for our residents here at Pacifica! Thanks Lindi Moo!

I love this!! Thank you! I've been wanting to play for my local nursing homes, and hymns are nice and all...but they're somber. This is a perfect way to make it fun!! Also, I love the beer song. It's naughty enough to make them feel young for laughing at it, but it's still light and fun and not offensive!! My grandmother and my uncle both died in a place like this. I'm sorry that I never gave them this...but I want to do better for these people. Please talk to me.

Hi there! 😊 Playing for these communities has very much changed my life in a very beautiful way. The power of music to create endorphins and smiles still amazes me. The trick is to find music that was special to them when they were in their teens...that's when it seems music imbeds itself in the brain the tightest...what their mom or dad sang around the house...what they listened to on the radio, etc. So, what may be meaningful to a 70 year old may not be meaningful to an 80 year old. I wish you joy in delivering your music to those who need it most 💕 💕

Loved your Lil skit along with music...just found you on youtube...we will be back...my 85 year old dementia Mom...this is about 17 years of dementia... Noone believes me...she still communicates with me, walks, etc?
