ugh mitski’s music is just so soulful. sometimes feels like looking in a mirror. the music video also adds so many layers to the imagery of a drunk who knows there’s a problem but is almost defeatist about their situation.

In my mind what this lines meaning "I try to remember the wrath of the devil was also given him by god" Is that while these things are horrible it is also important to acknowledge that you are the one who's giving it the power to hurt you so I guess I'd say the devil's wrath is something negative and the god is suppose to be the person receiving that (I'm not sure if that makes sense..)

I think the line about the bug being an angel at the bottom may be referring to I believe it’s a Mexican drink that has an actual bug in it that is said to help you have a better and become even more drunk and if you eat the bug too that’s supposed to make you even more drunk… I know for sure it’s a actual drink but I’m not totally sure if that’s what shes referring to
