I met the singer of citizen soldier at a concert and he's truly a beautiful person inside and out He is so sweet. I will never forget how he's changed my perspective on life 😁

That line, "I'll keep on writing songs, until they know my name. Cause there's a kid out there, that's hearing this that's in that place." Gives me chills but also reminded me that our experiences in this world, negative or positive, can be used to help others. Great reaction.

This is Citizen Soldier in a nutshell. Every song is very to the point and very in your face, no fancy words needed. They are my favourite band at this moment, because every song I've ever heard from them comes from a place of genuine support and positivity. They are a wonderful group of people, and their music heals the soul in a similar way to a therapist like yourself; by identifying the issues at hand, recognizing them, and providing a voice of empathy and understanding.

"Tattoos" might be one of my favorite songs that Citizen Soldier made. It leaves a great message for others.

Listening to this song, particularly, "what didn't kill me, made me something so brave," has helped me navigate triggers so many times.

Citizen Soldier has such a beautiful voice and way of describing how the scars of life written large on the body are the book of a life story that can be reframed to reflect and draw positivity from, about how a person has survived and come through their adversity. Also how those scars can be used to help others to hopefully write their scars in a different and less damaging way. So many people are lucky enough to be able to say “I was lucky I came though my difficulties and experience outwardly un-scared”, and I know that is brilliant for them, but that it can also make those that do have physical scars feel lesser because of that. We must always be aware of this and be compassionate to those who have physical scars and never make them feel ashamed for this fact or that they should hide them if they don’t want to, because it is an achievement in itself that those people are still here today. Physical scars are the reminder you can see, but I agree with you Stuart that internal scars are no less of a reminder. They are not projected into the world visibly, but project out in so many other ways. We should be proud of people who choose to show either or both the internal and external scars of life to help or educate others.

i saw citizen soldier last year in october i think, this was the last song that they played and i was so happy they did because i wasnt sure if they would ive been to 2 huge metal festivals and other bands that have way more popularity, but seeing citizen soldier is still by far the best concert to me, this band has saved my life countless times and i love how real their music is, and when i saw them it was in a bar so there werent that many people and it made it so much more personal, it actually felt like i was being personally talked to in between songs when he spoke to the crowd

For me this song is about my depression but also the fact that I've had over 40 surgeries, I have scars all over my body. I am proud of them as they have made me the more resilient person I am today, I know that is not the true meaning of the song bur that's what I take away from it.

thank you so much for your words at the end. They really mean a lot for me because I've struggled with feeling unseen because of not visible scars and there was a time, when I though I should hurt myself physically so I would have been taken seriously like somebody else. Of course I know better now. But maybe your words help people, who are in this state like I was before, to let them feel seen. That they don't need to hurt themselves to show how bad their life or situation really is.
