Girl.... You. Are. Awesome. Period. Everyone has things they don't like about themselves. That's perfectly okay. I'm glad you found a way to talk and figure stuff out. People don't dive into themselves enough. Proud of you. Keep up all the greatness And you have your cuteness, your dorkyness, and your super prettyness. So love those things about yourself. (yes, I know those aren't all real words. But you get it. Lol)

I'm so glad that you did this video because so many people assume that just because a person usually appears calm and happy, he or she doesn't feel anxiety and emotional issues. That is false. Most people feel a certain level of anxiety on a regular basis. So there's nothing wrong with seeing a therapist. I'm so glad that you are taking care of yourself Ariel.

When someone makes a video like this I really think it's amazing. I think you're so brave to share in this way. I've been tempted in the past, to make a video sharing my struggle with social anxiety (undiagnosed, much like yourself by the sounds of it), but I can never quite bring myself to do it. People can be really surprised & sometimes confused when I mention it to them, assuming because I can stick a video up on KZbin, I can get through life like any "normal" person. Most of the time I can, but sometimes life gets the better of me, especially when I'm dealing with new situations, so therapy is something I've never quite pushed myself to do. I've just realised I'm rambling now 😂 I mainly wanted to say thank you. Hearing someone share their experiences with the practical aspects of therapy, could be a real help if I ever decide that it's the right thing for me in the future. Keep the amazing content coming

My girlfriend has anxiety and she goes to therapy for it. She talks to me about it all the time and I definitely agree that there is a really big stigma around it. People hear that someone is going to therapy and they immediately assume that its a bad thing. I think that this video is great because we need to work to break that stigma. I loved this video. Thanks for opening up!

Thank you Ariel. You're very brave, and a great many people will benefit from you talking about this. At first I was surprised to hear of your anxiety but it made sense quickly - its actually very common in highly intelligent and creative people who tend to be perfectionists. We usually have a higher level of sensitivity, and are not wired to thrive in the ever-increasing insanity of this world. As a late 40s male, I totally get how tough it is to talk openly about this; one takes a huge risk opening up about mental health issues. I spent more than 3 years in weekly therapy in my late 20s / early 30s, and I will say that EVERYONE needs counseling for something. You don't have to find rock bottom (like I did) to benefit from therapy; everybody can enjoy better mental health by some honest introspective exploration. So go get it! There's nothing to be ashamed of, but rather it should be celebrated anytime someone takes that step. We become stronger and more genuine because of it.

I applaud your willingness to talk about such a difficult subject. I had an opportunity a little over a year ago to be exposed to group therapy and it was extremely helpful. Even in therapy with a professional counselor it’s easy to hold on to the idea that you are somehow unique in your unsettled feelings of despair. It was liberating being in a room with dozens of people who all thought they were alone in the way they felt about themselves hearing people from different situations tell stories so close to my own. They may have manifested in lots of different ways, like anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, addiction, etc., but all had the common theme of questioning self worth. It’s very powerful to realize there are more that feel just like we do than not. And it’s only the bravest among us that are willing to talk about it. Thank you.

Ariel, (excuse my English please) I keep watching your videos for a long time. Watched your style and music development. But since the first time I saw you, I was flashed by your funny and smart talking. Always making me smile. Not this conceited blabla you see the most of the time in other videos. You are so pretty and you look like you have an inner glow. Your voice and talent for music is outstanding. Watching this video and getting to know about you not loving yourself makes me sad. I wish you could feel about yourself like me (and I think like the most of all people watching you singing). And just feel so much appreciation for your person and your music. Please get over your sad thoughts quickly and enjoy your life with your great talent that lives in this smart and beautiful Person. Please love yourself for everything that you are, you are just awesome.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opening up for all of us. I think it's very impressive how wrong you can be with your perspective of someone else. From time to time i come to your channel, watch your videos of singing or talking and always ended up happy, because you are such an awesome, likeable person with a sweet smile and mindset. I'm not following you anywhere else nor watch every video (and obviously we don't have a personal relationship or something :D) but from what i've seen from you i never would have thought that you are struggeling with yourself or any anxiety. Just want to point out that things/people are not always as they seem. This is not meant the way that people are faking anything, it's meant the way that we "judge" about people without knowing them at all. Keep on the good content. You have a sweet voice and i like that you don't over edit your videos.

Ariel, When you open up, it is emotional. You are acknowledging your "faults." Just because you have days that are hard, dosent mean you are less than what you are. When you sit back and recognize the patterns in your emotions, behavior, anxiety or anything else that you struggle with, it will help you. You learn to adjust and prepare mentally, emotionally and physically. Mental illness is stigmatized because of how we perceive it. Its something a lot of people live with and appear "normal." Like you, it was something I struggled with for a long time (thearpy). 10 years ago I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 with psychosis, depression, PTSD, and social anxiety. Most of my days are like your bad day(s). I still do things, it's just a matter of preparation for me. Most people dont know what I go through on a daily basis, but, it dosent change me from a personality perspective, well, at least nobody notices. Medications do help, but the side effects and possible side effects are something less desirable. I dont want you to fear medication, but I think its important for you to understand the good and bad possibilities. By performing, you are conquering some of the things you battle with. That makes you strong and gives you the ability to learn how to achieve your goals. Keep being open with those you trust and more so, yourself. You are in a position to inspire 1000's just being yourself. You dont have to announce anything, just continue doing what you do and being the best person you can be. God bless Ariel.

you poor bb😢. I have accepted Anxiety as just another feeling, its neither bad nor good, its basically like feeling tired, or excited, angry, etc. I use to run from it, or try and take pills or drink it away, but when I just accepted it for what is, thats when things took a turn for the btter for me. When we are tired we fall asleep, when we are hungry we eat, when we are excited and full of energy, we go out and have fun or do something romantic. Anxiety is just another feeling that we have to find an outlet for, therapy is a good outlet. Be careful, trying to "fix" anxiety can actually cause it to get worst, because frankly there is no cure for it - just like getting sleepy, you can't "fix" getting sleepy. You just do. Same with hunger, there is no way to fix these things, you just have to find outlets that will give you temporary relief. Thank you for the video Ariel and I look forward to more 😍

I can tell you not to let yourself go through that loop, but knowing it too well I can confidently say that that'd would be a load of BS. Its not that easy. I think if you feel that its too severe, then therapy is definitely the way. I started going a couple of years ago and I think its the best decision I have ever made.

When you are young, it can be difficult to figure out what your true value as a person is, because you don’t know what is expected of you. Some people cope with this by setting up really high standards for themselves, to make sure those standards are always higher than what the surroundings expects from them - just to be on the safe side. As you become older and more experienced on life in general, you are able to put those experiences and accomplishments into perspective and measure them on a larger scale. And almost all of the time you reach the conclusion that you did ok. As you grow even older, you stop giving a shit and enter a relaxed state of mind where self doubt subsides and criticism from others is easily asserted and dismissed if you deem it unsubstantiated.

Ok, so, I just feel like writing to say thank you. Not for anything major like "opening my eyes" or "giving me the courage to look for help" or anything of the sort. But as I am going to therapy for 3 months now, it is really refreshing to relate to someone I guess (I mean, for some weird and mysterious reason I feel like I relate to your way of thinking more than I should, considering how different we practically are....but whatever). So yeah, thank you for giving me a sense of..... commanderie I guess? I don't know. Also you completely terrified me by describing exactly my therapist (yes, with glasses, going for the all-too-typical "Aha-aha mhm-mhm, and how does that make you feel?" routine, while keeping notes from time to time). Pff, thank you for that as well (no, really, thank you. It's good food for thought). Anyway, on the off chance that you actually do check this out, I hope you deal with your shaiza in a meaningful way, keep on being as real as you can (how generic is that huh?) and of course keep on musicing however you like (suggestion of the day: check out Big Thief's "Not", if you haven't already that is). With (sincere) love!

Opening up does not mean you are acknowledging your faults. We all have flaws. What we can do with them is what makes us unique. Ariel, I have lived with an anxiety disorder for at least 20 years now. Depression goes hand in hand with anxiety most of the time and that is the case with you and many. It is serious and it is an illness. Laying on the bed counting the dots on the ceiling. or not having the energy to put on clothes for the day means you are depressed. It's ok to be selfish about feeling badly. Don't let your self esteem say shitty things about you. What I've seen most of all in the business is song writers and performers, are incomplete children. The past is so important. Also I preferred group meetings to one on one meetings with a counselor. They is no wrong answer. Promise yourself you won't give up trying. You never give up---i know you

One thing I have noticed about many, but not all, but many who do need therapy, have no open communications with anyone in their lives at home. WE are not meant to be alone, and is why God created woman so that the man would not be alone. Also, none of us would be here without the other. I am a older man, and I see this so much, where men do not want to talk about just anything. WE are not all the same. I also see women do the exact same thing. So at some point, most are afraid to open up, and its OK to do so... to open up. There will be someone willing to just listen, which is what that person needs, and that person also needs feedback, even if they do not agree with it. All of this helps us all. Again, I am an older man, and I have a daughter that talks to me about her female problems because her mother does not want to hear it. She talks to me about anything, but... when I need her opinion, she cannot give it. I have lived alone for over 10 years, and many times I like to get a woman's opinion about something, but have nobody to chat with. There, I just opened up a tad about myself.

But in your case I didn't see that coming. Thanks for opening up. I wish you were living a bit closer to where we live. My 9 year old daughter is also a perfectionist and has Fear of Failure. I suppose there will always be some degree of stigma attached to seeking any kind of help, whether therapy or otherwise, because nobody wants to admit needing help. But I would like to think that therapy is pretty common these days and not looked down upon like it once was. I wouldn't get too hung up on whether your anxiety is serious to be an official, clinical diagnosis or not. If you know you're feeling anxiety on a frequent basis, then yeah, you've got anxiety. Welcome to the human race. It is ironic that a lovely, talented gal who has thousands of adoring fans struggles with these kinds of issues, but open any magazine at the grocery store and you find that a majority of high profile celebrities also struggle with their own similar issues, so while it's ironic, it's not really surprising. I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to share our story with us. OK, so "comfortable" isn't even close to the right word. Willing, certainly. Maybe you even trust us to some extent. (And yes, we're rooting for you, girl!) In any case, you care enough about us to want to share what might be helpful to us. Thank you. While I am not a therapist, I do have some training in things psychological, and I have done a certain amount of lay counseling in the past. As you say, there are many, many styles of therapy available out there (if you can find and afford them), and some are more effective than others. But I think you highlight a very important point: When whatever you are doing is not working (such as when you find yourself staying in bed all day), then try something (*anything!*) different, seek help. Maybe you might have to try several therapists before you find one that fits you, but it's better than just riding the downward spiral. I wish you all the best going forward as you work out your issues with your therapist or anyone else whom you engage to help you. In fact, I am praying for you! You're a treasure we don't want to lose.

This is not directed at Ariel personally. Let's get that out of the way. Society has been socially engineered to get you younger folks to think that anxiety is a negative thing. Everybody experiences anxiety. Way less people that are actually diagnosed with it or treated with medication for it are actually clinically depressed or have anxiety that needs treated in that manner. Of course everyone should talk to their doctor to see where they fall in that. Growing up every other person I knew or probably every person at any given time had anxiety. You know what we did? We went out and rode our bike, we went out and played, we didn't have a cell phone or a smartphone to plant our faces in most of the day. We didn't have Instagram so that we can share things and then have our friends approve or disapprove. We didn't give much about what everybody else thought. We all had the same life experiences. We were taught how to cope with things growing up and it wasn't drilled into our head that anxiety is a bad thing. Like I said sure there are some people who do have anxiety that does need a treatment. But the majority these days just didn't grow up learning how to cope with normal stress. If someone thinks that they have anxiety but they don't feel like they're going to try an end their life and they're not climbing the walls freaking out then you should talk to your doctor to make sure that you are generally okay and then you might go out and take a walk, get off your smartphone, quit making duck faces or smirk faces on social media ride a bike take a hike and don't look at your smartphone unless you fall down and break a leg and you need a helicopter to come pick you up. Get out of this habit of letting your lives revolve around whether somebody thumbs up or gives the right reaction to some post you made on social media. * like I said I'm not discounting that there are some genuine cases of stress that may have a chemical problem or even a nutritional cause that do need further intervention after you talk to your doctor to see where you fall in that Spectrum. Even though I am not a baby boomer people might be thinking "OK Boomer", but my response would be okay let's look who wasn't raised being taught how to deal with normal stress.

That's true James, we didnt have all these self indulgent things to get approval. We played outside and learned to live. However, not all was grand for us either. I too am not a Boomer, but I can tell you from experience, attempting to take your own life is something I wish on no one. (3 times). Its the darkest depths of your soul. It eats away at every ounce of any kind of hope you may have. Anxiety can do that, but it's only one thing that can get you to that point. Well I agree these kids spend too much time on whatever device du jur, it's our responsibility to teach them about life in general. I'm not saying yours and mine, but our generation. Part of our generation handed these devices to these kids because "we" didnt want to face "our" responsibilities. It's a sad truth, but now it's also a burden for these kids. One day there will be kids playing as we did, and a balance will be the norm.

I don't need to speed money with therapists. My therapists is Jesus. All I have to do is open the bible and ask for advice.

You need two things in your life to get over any “anxiety”. A man and a baby. You are drop dead gorgeous, you have your pick of men, pick one. Family is what you need.

Why is that, when every single person loves you .You dont love yourself?

You should get married and stop all the casual hookups. Nothing will make you feel more worthless and anxious then giving yourself to someone that only wants sex and no long term commitment. You have value, you deserve security and children.

I've watched several videos of Ariel with my 12 yr old daughter - nice girl .... but maybe getting real job with real responsibility like the rest of us would do her some good. And no - traveling around on subscriber donations and being a youtuber doesn't qualify as "real" work. Sorry for being a jerk .... just calling it as I see it.
