Update! An article I wrote with a colleague in social work was just published yesterday (3/10/2022), which discusses much of what's presented here in more detail. It's open-access so you don't need a university library or database account to access it, just click here! doi.org/10.1007/s44202-022-00019-5

Thank you so much! First real interview this week and this was really helpful! We don't explore the importance of the "human" side on building rapport in class enough... this was a great way of summarize/structure some of this aspects and will for sure help keeping them present! Keep it coming!

Thank you for this wonderful video tutorial! I am working towards my AFC (Accredited Financial Counselor) certification, and I have to practice doing client intakes. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything about doing intakes as it applies to financial counseling. That is, until I saw this! Thank you for breaking it down to the basic parts and aspects of an intake! I can easily apply these with my clients, substituting clinicals for financials, i.e. instead of "diagnosis and treatment", I would use "determine goals and create action plan". This has been most helpful.

Thank you for this! I actually stayed engaged while watching, and I needed this before seeing my first client as an intern. Idk if you ever considered teaching but you’d be good at it!

This was awesome! Love the structured breakdown! Wish you were my field instructor ! I’d love videos that breakdown the different modes - CBT vs Psychodynamic… etc… just to see the types of questions you’d ask in each modality …
