Here's my SCTE and all of the upgrades/modifications I've done so far. Here's a link for the Spektrum Voltage capacitor in the video: www.nitrohouse....

A lot! At that point, probably about 1200 minus the radio. It is my hobby and it keeps the stress down from work, and other crap in life!!! so it is priceless!

The new HD Diffs from TLR work great. About a $6 part for each diff will make them seal better (better gasket) and you no longer need those tiny little round shims on each side of the spider gears. TLR332001 is the part number.

As for oil weight, that really has to do with your truck set up and track. A good starting point is 5/7/3 (f/c/r). Then tune from there. Right now, I'm running 5/5/2.5 in my SCTE/MIP

no worries on the price thing....the track I goto is in the hub of the RC world. You have Team Assoc, Team Kyosho, Team TLR, Axial, and OFNA all showing up there regularly. The big thing is the 22's right now, especially the buggy, although I saw the 22sct's in force last week. I sold off my 22, just couldn't get into the 2wd thing. As for the pricing on my indoor SCTE, it's at about $1600 into it. Keep in mind, many of the electrics have been handed down....

Yep, the Spektrum voltage capacitor is helpful, from what I've found when running Savox Servos. Most of the time, it's when running Spektrum receivers too. You can find it at Nitrohouse. I will put a link in the video description for you. Model number is SPM1600. Goes for about $6 You can just plug it into your aux jack on your receiver.

Cool deal! I usually run one even if there's no issue
@TheRCNetwork12 жыл бұрын
I just went to Savox's website, select digital/brushless. They have the 2270, 2271 and 2273 advertised as high or monster torque. I only have experience with the 1258 and 1257 Savox's, so not sure to recommend. What vehicle? When I need torque, I usually goto the classic 7955tg from Hitec. 333 oz/in of torque at 7.4v
@TheRCNetwork12 жыл бұрын
I would do the 1258tg. at 166 oz/in and .08 sec at 6.0v, it's hard to pass up for $65. Plus it's Titanium geared. Unless you're weighting the SCTE down running badlands and just bashing, I don't see a need for more torque and less speed. Do get a voltage capacitor if you plan to get a Savox though....

I'm gonna use that line now!

At the track I run at, there's only one straight away and even it's been shortened lately. If you noticed in my fun SCTE, I have a 4600.......just in case!
@TheRCNetwork11 жыл бұрын
Yeah, a few people have pointed that out. I fixed it, but Tekin should really specify that in the instructions! lol

Unscrew the front endbell and turn it to where the screw holes you want to use line up and then screw the endbell back on. works flawlessly for me.

I'm working on a deal with MIP to do a vid series on the other SCTE, although poor timing on my part, that Eustace and Matt Olson are traveling for the nationals.

no worries....smart choice on the SCTE. I had a NExx10 and the SCTE is far better.

I had these screws from a different install, which I believe I cut to fit. I never trust the screws that come with motor/kits

like your vids bro! not sure if you've been on a track where you can open it up... but does the pro4 4000 with a 16t keep up with the pro4 4600s?

Ah, got ya. Any tuning tips on the SCTE? I already got rid of the abysmal grease filled diffs in mine and its started handling worlds better. Although it does still have a tenancy to get a kind of hoppy oscillation in the back end under high speed that eventually ends up spinning it out. Any way to tune that out or is it just a characteristic of short course trucks?
@TheRCNetwork11 жыл бұрын
I checked it out, and I am not an expert videographer, but here's what I saw: It was shot in vertical, not landscape. There was lots of eratic camera movement, kinda like Blair Witch Lighting needs to be improved, more light the better Needs some sort of consistent backdrop/surface to make the vehicle pop more. I have a white backdrop/surface with lots of lighting, almost too much. I shoot off of a tripod mostly and move in very steadily.

Really cool mod. job, thanks
@TheRCNetwork11 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that is a bit characteristic of SCT, being light(er) weight. You may want to look at ride height though and lower it
@TheRCNetwork11 жыл бұрын
Wow, not sure. It's probably gonna need some trial and error to figure that one out. Maybe take the wheels off and get it fixed to a stand and test it out. I actually don't run reverse on my trucks.

great thanks for your reply
@MrWasaby11 жыл бұрын
Cool cool thanks for the advice rich. I also had another question, when I am giving it full throttle and then I but the reverse on there is like a grinding sound coming from the rear diff I already changed the gears inside the diff any idea what it could be.

I have a question. For the TLR Kit, will the battery posts from the SCTE 2.0 fit on the TLR chassis?
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
In the video, I have the 1.0 version of the SCTE. The 2.0 version has a totally different layout vs the 1.0, so I doubt the battery posts will fit if that's what you 're talking about.

Hi, i was just wanted to know what motor mount screws you used as the supplied screws don't fit the Tekin pro4 large screw holes, if i use the supplied screws the soldering posts are too close to the drive shaft or to far away from the rx8 in the two different positions... hope your able to help, Thanks

I did, after you and Coda5610 kept probing for a price, went to Nitrohousedotcom and added everything to a cart........it was disturbing! I started justifying about the electrics that had been in 3 different vehicles, new radio, etc......

Hi there is any of the part interchangeable with the losi 8ight 2.0 buggy as they look similar

Not really. Although the layout is similar, the 8ight series has completely different parts

@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+nick lopez That's going to be tough to find since the 2.0 was released. I did a quick search on eBay, and didn't see it anymore....You may have to purchase seperately

How much do u think u got in to the truck
@oosteveo31510 жыл бұрын
You need sway bars - the smallest in the rear and biggest in the front. Help a ton
@TheRCNetwork10 жыл бұрын
I guess it really depends on the track and how you run your truck. I found on an indoor technical clay track, The SCTE performed better with more steering by deleting the front sway bar
@oosteveo31510 жыл бұрын
Yup all track specific I guess. I run the stiff one on a open outdoor track that is very high speed.
@TheRCNetwork10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I could see that.

Oddly enough.....an iPhone 4s. Most every vid in the shop is done with it. Some of the running videos and action stuff I use a GoPro and a Flip Video HD Mino. I really havent started to spend money on camera equipment yet, as I'd rather spend money on RC's!
