dude think about this, in order to replace spur gears you MUST remove the cap. they have to use a spring to give it slip. it's the same adjustable clutch just with a cap to keep newbies from messing with it. also remember the internal gears are metal opposed to composite on the mega.

That was nice to see the difference in both Arrma Fury SCT, My personal pick would be the BLX but for someone just starting out or on a budget the Mega Fury would be perfect and I know for my first RC if I got the Mega I wouldn't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing 2 thumbs up Great work Rich.

+Shayen RC Enthusiast. Thanks for watching....I wanted to see exactly the differences.....and the list got long

The user manual for the Mega shows that once you remove the circlip, long cap comes off to reveal the nut for slipper adjustment, or at least the ability to add one.
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+BigCarKilla I'm sure it's very similar to the BLX assembly, just not adjustable
@treydavis54134 жыл бұрын
I know this is old, but yes the slipper is adjustable whan you take the cap off. Its exactly the same as the blx with spring, washers and lock nut

I don't have an RC truck at the moment. I really enjoyed it about 5 years ago but gradually faded away from iut and sold my HPI Baja. I am thinking of getting back into it since watching your videos over the last few months has got e enthused about it again. I just need to decide whether to go electric, nitro or petrol. I have always wanted a really quick electric but don't know anything about electronics.
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+Gary Lowe You're coming back in at a great time....electronics are super easy and very inexpensive now....I would do Electric vs the gas or nitro.
@garylowe86019 жыл бұрын
The RCNetwork I understand all the electrical parts in an RC car but if anything went wrong with it I wouldn't be able to locate the fault. I have looked to KZbin for beginners guide to RC electrics but no one really goes into fault finding. That's the only thing holding me back from going electric. As you say its a great time for RC at the moment and it will only get better.

I'd take the blx, with the body and wheels from the mega. I like the looks of the mega line. Always have. But the aluminum upgrades help, and the brushless system, and hopefully upgraded drivetrain.

I couldn't wait haha. Great vid dissect of the Mega and BLX. I also believe the BLX has a metal gear servo vs the Mega having plastic gear servo. Also i think the BLX has rear alloy 12mm hex's while the Mega has plastic not 100%. Again i'm not 100% sure. Correct me if i am wrong.

Though I think the blx is a really nice package, I just don't see $369 worth of truck. At that price point they could've tossed in some aluminum threaded collar big bore shocks, and maybe better radio gear.
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+Rowdy Yates Def on the big bore shocks.....that would be nice, as the all plastic ones do blow off the caps from time to time. I'm fine with the radio gear.......
@semperatis8 жыл бұрын
You can't put big-bore shocks on it as there isn't the room in the top yoke to allow them to fit.

Armmas' steering bell-crank is weak and disloges form groves if too much dual rate is applied - this has not happened to any traxxas vehicle I own.. Crap servo, great radio, priced to high for what you get. The Arma seneton is said to be a "tank" however for that price you might as well get a TLR/tecno. In my humble opinion, Arrmas' top of the line are worthy, but the mega, bls, blx are subpar for the price except for the kraton, seneton, and typhon. but still for that price HPI, TRAXXAS, ASSOCIATED RTRs are much better built and equipped. ARRMA is great for those new to the hobby but I would strongly advice to go with traxxas in terms of bang for the buck, Parts support. Just my experience with armma, traxxas, hpi, associated electronics. Thanks.
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+G King Hey G King, and thank you for watching. There's always opinions and I appreciate them......with that, I commend Arrma for actually coming out with new platforms and versions, like the Senton, Typhon, Talion and Kraton earlier this year. When was Traxxas' last new platform? And the XO-1 doesn't count....The main thing that Arrma doesn't have over the big 4 is the aftermarket support and stock part support at local stores. As for building a kit vs buying the Senton? I'm always up for building a kit, but in comparison, you'll be into it for about $1,000 on the two you named and what the Senton is marketed to is the guy that has graduated from the basic RTR and isn't quite ready (or wants the hassle of building) a KIT. Once again, respect the opinion, but I have had my shares of issues with other brands.......

is this a good first timer? differences of bls and blx? I mean I just want to run it all seasons (in chicago), and not really on a track, would the bls be fine? considering its cheaper price?
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+Justin Trinh The main difference between the BLS and BLX is the brushless system. he BLS has the rock bottom lowest end BL system, where the BLX has a sensoreless 4 pole brushless motor
@justintrinh87669 жыл бұрын
would you recommend me start off the hobby with a bls ($200) or the blx ($370)
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+Justin Trinh Go for the BLS. It's almost identical to the BLX. Worst case down the line if you really get into it, You cab drop in a $105 Castle SV3 system and be right where the BLX's power is.
@SurviventheOnslaught9 жыл бұрын
+The RCNetwork So the mega has plastic gears? If I stick a castle sv3 will it handle it........hmmmmmmm

What is the difference between the BLX and the BLS?
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+SteelAceGS BLS is a mid-line vehicle between the MEGA and the BLX. You still get a brushless system, but def not an aluminum can, 4 pole or a nicer rated ESC like the BLX. Not sure on the rest of the differences, as I don't have one in studio

I think the mega is geared more towards the beginner, nice price range, really nice company, and is cheaper to replace after breaking than the pro line. The pro line, well what can I say, it is an Arrma pro line vehicle made for real racing, can be more dangerous for us guys who tend to back in our backyard but hey, if you have the space lol.
@TheRCNetwork9 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Eaglebarger (toysoldier46552) Yep, I agree. The Mega will def appeal to the entry level, with both price and ease of use (no adjusting, phillips screws, etc)
